Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Once you have accepted the rights then HL will automatically arrange the purchase on the 23rd. You just need to make sure the dough is in your account to buy em. Simples
Smithy, I get why there is pessimism from you side based on what's happened. But I think you are wrong.
As I mentioned I dont know anyone who has said they wont travel. I also have huge amounts to travel for business once travel opens up, so do many I know. Video calls are not the same. Yes there will be a reduction but not much and not what will affect easyjet.
Those 5m are probably 5mil who wont jump in a plane anyway for fear it will fall out the sky.
There is amble of space to make up for them. More people travelling more frequently for starters
Smithy, I dont know anyone who have said they will chnage their travel philosophy when restrictions are lifted. Also ezj capacity during the Summer was much better than I had hoped.
I believe the worst is behind us and as such fully taken up my rights and building a bigger position here. 1-2 years from now this will be much much higher.
All this time has allowed companies to review their Costa and streamline business. I am a firm believer recovery will do well and profits exceed precovid levels.
As with everything there are risks. A new strain of covid for example. However we are all doomed if this happens!!
Ryan Air look to capitalise over the next 5 years. Continue to upgrade aircraft and expand services. They seem very bullish travel will have a nice bounce. RNS out this morning
This is the reason ezj have raised funds, to capitalise on the bounce in demand.
Short term blip for long term growth. All good in my book. All these guys panicking about the SP need to relax. We are in probably the best position we have been for 18 months and a heap of the population wanting to go on holiday.

That article is perfect timing against my theory... I'm going to guess its BB writing the story hahaha
BB, no it was a genuine question. I saw no specific reason and I dont sit on these boards reading each post all day.
You claim I have an alternative narrative yet some of the obscure things you post is absolutely fine? Are you now going to claim my post is trying to control the SP of a multi billion pound market cap??
It's a discussion page so why not in future treat it as such rather than your personal board..
I see you have now posted some comments. So let's try this again shall we.
I expect losses to have reduced. They had spent a considerable time consolidating debt repayments and deferring payments. Not only this but they had increased flights from July which wasnt included in the report. IAGs other airlines were doing quite well during the summer months. BA which is admittedly their biggest earner is still a little slow to get going due to travel restrictions
Just for clarify I am a holder. But I have some concerns:
Why start up a cheap airline especially now. It's going to cost too much. If if they insist in doing it why not expand a business model they have with one of the other groups airlines to the UK to do this. Also i use to fly BA quite a bit. They are not offering much more than a cheap airline now given they have taken away the free food in flight. I only fly for the avois points!
Next is we need Biden to open up. I'm not sure what he is playing at. Watched the tennis last night (well done Emma) and saw one person in the crowd with a mask.
And thirdly furlough ends, it's really helped BA and I'm sure this will have a short term impact whilst they assess the flight demand compared to staff levels.
Eitherway. I still maintain at the moment there will be no RI near term. Something like 7.7b euro is cash
Many people I know who missed out on holiday are looking for a BIG holiday next year and / or a nice winter break overseas to places like the French Alps. I have yet to meet anyone who has said they will chnage their habits on travelling overseas once things open up.
As for business. I am ready to go to the US qhen it opens up. Many in business feel it cannot be done on teams effectively. I guess it depends on the business you are in but many I speak to (not all) will be back in planes soon enough.
I have seen several comments on here about a possible raise. I'm slightly perplexed over why, can you please explain your logic to me, maybe I have missed something?
Some snippets from the last update:
Operating profit / loss:
Reported operating loss for the second quarter €967 million (2020 restated: operating loss €2,182 million) and operating loss before exceptional items €1,045 million (2020 restated: operating loss before exceptional items €1,370 million)
· Reported operating loss for the half year €2,035 million (2020 restated: operating loss €4,052 million), and operating loss before exceptional items €2,180 million (2020 restated: operating loss before exceptional items €1,915 million
Liquidity:
Cash of €7.7 billion at June 30, 2021 up €1.7 billion on December 31, 2020. Committed and undrawn general and aircraft facilities of €2.5 billion, bringing total liquidity to €10.2 billion, with pro forma liquidity including the British Airways sustainability-linked EETC financing executed in July at €10.8 billion
Result:
Based on the extensive modelling the Group has undertaken in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, including considering plausible but severe downside scenarios, the Directors have a reasonable expectation that the Group has sufficient liquidity for the going concern assessment period to December 31, 2022
Assuming nothing changes they are losing 1b per qtr. Now they have said they have enough for the assesssment till Dec 31 2022 which will likely see them 6b lighter off. I suspect by then though we will see more flights along with higher costs due to the end of furlough.
They will not want to go down to the wire so if we have no improvement I would expect to see a raise being requested end of spring / start of Summer next year.
Why are some expecting a raise so soon... just because another airline has?
Ok thanks. disappointing but I guess its market conditions. Very well times announcement to coincide with the RI news!
Let's see where this week leaves us. Better get some dry powder ready
Anyone with details of this takeover bid?
I'm interested to see where they pitched as interested parties will always test the waters first. I want to understand how likely they are to come back with a counter offer.
Good to see some excellent conversations going. So we all await the update end of month and see how things are going..
Personally I have been hoping the 70m will be covered by profits especially after Christmas revenue and hopefully addition growth from internet sales.
I'm happy not to take dividends until they find their feet.
All of this was discussed in the last presentation only last month.
We were told about Sancrai and how long it will take
We were told about what they are doing to get word out about the company. Just because us small PIs dont hear about it doesnt mean they are not doing anything. They are after bigger fish.
I assume you listened to the presentation?
Very quiet here. So many comments saying how busy all their local shops are. I am hoping for rerate to start at the end of this month with next update followed by nice run up to Christmas.
I think there is a small risk of covid during winter. I don't forsee complete lock down again, maybe local lock downs depending on hospitalisation in the local regions.

Just thought I would catch up on all the chatter. What's this about being a penny stock balls. Jeez never heard such tripe
Penny stock by definition:
Penny stocks or penny shares are common stock that trade with a share price below £1 in the UK and below $5 in the US. The companies will also have a market cap below £100 million in the UK, and below $300 million in the US. As they are small, low-valued businesses, they offer higher risk and reward to traders.
Other than being less than 100p (unlikely but possible depending on future outcomes) how does IAG define as a penny stock?
Everyone knows this will be volatile and no one knows what's going to happen in near term but we are well secured for finance. I'm still holding and adding. Short term dips don't phase me as I'm playing the long game. GLA whatever u decide
I actually find the plane counting quite interesting. We all know it's way behind pre pandemic levels but still gives me confidence if numbers are increasing each week.
This may change in the coming weeks now the holiday season is over. But I guess we will see
You mean the same Netflix who took on an additaddit6 million paid subscribers thanks to COVID.....?
Sounds like a real struggle that one
I dont think I'm missing the point and happy to have this discussion on the CARD board rather than CINE but CARD manufacturer their own cards and have distribution agreements with other shops to sell their cards. Hence in some locations you may even be buying a CARD Factory card !
This issue with CINE in my honest opinion is that VoD will eventually be released at the same time (or close proximity to) and will hurt trade. If you look at the numbers the attendances have been dropping for the last decade. The only reason financials have remained positive is because the charges have increased substantially. It's getting to the point where the charges will be considered too much when you can simply buy from the comfort of your couch.
Again I'm a CINE holder and a CARD holder. I just think CARD have more going for them long run. Time will tell as it always does
Yes you are missing everything. They are a cash cow. They have this market segment wrapped up. Manufacturer their own cards and sell online including quite a decent app now too.
They are in control on their own destiny.
CINE whilst I am a shareholder have huge debt and are going to be for a while at least competing against VOD. Whether you agree with it or not.
Time for Auld to start making more of an impact here. He has a really good track record, I for one was a strong supporter of him coming in. But we have had nothing but declines since during the several years of his leadership.
He has made some good moves but market still lacking confidence in the business. Auld should be getting this addressed.
I think they will open up to double jabs. I just think they want to stall until after the summer holidays so there isnt such a mad spike in numbers going through airports.
After all, Delta variant is in the UK and USA so what difference will it honestly make ?
