seen too many reservoirs where lack of best practice appraisal end up with poorer recovery. HE certainly world leaders in geological FB, BUT, basic need to know OWC to properly assess reserves & resources. Warwick area as currently mapped will have different recovery factor to Lincoln area - even if their 'guess/instinct' is right with similar contacts. Slightly different fluids would confirm separation too (isotoping, etc), as well as OWC & pressures.

Coring exploration/appraisal wells is KEY, if you are right about horizontal only exploration well then FE is less definitive. WD is an exploration well. Pressure reference depth TVD can be out by 10-30ff - so harder to confirm similarity unless interference testing shows otherwise which can take years!

Your posts seem to highlight more new questions than answers. Always remember Xcite CPRs(?). HE now production company so time will tell. Long term hold for me, current SP not in line with technical data published.

The UK limits (0.5, traffic lights) where for Exploration/Appraisal wells (initially). No Development Plan for UK Shale Gas has ever been submitted! North American limits are typically >2km from major residential areas - so difficult to compare, NA apples vs UK apples. Not easy to drill & fracc >2km from UK residential areas. Bowland Fraccs (Preston New Road) were effectively under some built-up areas.

Will be very interesting what happens next in UK; may be skip a generation..

'pretty' sure is why E&P companies drill exploration and appraisal wells. Lincoln OWC very different from Lancaster OWC. Warwick currently is undrilled - assumptions do not add reserves & resources, reducing uncertainty does. These reservoirs are normally pressured & fault seal unclear. Trying to get agreement on FFD needs proper actions to address 'pretty' sure. What if Warwick OWC is same as Lancaster? Deep horizontal well makes little sense this early on. The industry is full of disasters where appraisal was not taken seriously - sanctioning FFD in Appraise/Select not Define/Design.

...that's what the GWA ppt show as you say. BUT WD is exploration well where maximizing data is the primary objective. If that is all HE/Spirit aspiration (as you say) to just have horizontal well - without a pilot hole first; clearly they need to employ a few consultants! Pilot hole is best for coring & logging, plus aiding location of horizontal well as shown in ppts. Need to move away from just sidewall cores...

...no technical barriers to HUR RNS on FOIL, just going through check-off procedures. HE getting lots of good data from subsurface during this period which will help reduce uncertainty significantly. Hopefully that data will be presented on 5th June. Key RNS is definitely Warwick Deep OWC and pressures which minority shareholders do not have the technical program for, except couple of powerpoint slides on WWW.

...an RNS mentioning ‘max’ oil rate tomorrow would seem helpful - not everything can wait for 5th June. Hurricane Energy now a Production company, not just Exploration, sounds like ‘what it is now on the tin’. PR is useful - hopefully all those new staff can add more than minority shareholders have been getting recently. New partners may come from outside UK, getting good press outside local pond may help.

...with 100 million BO proven reserves in GLA - HUR can forward sell and GWA is only 50% WI for another FPSO, so easily fundable once OGA approve. Hence in latest CP talk of going on - not selling out as Dr T envisaged. As more staff come on board likelyhood of selling out always diminishes, why should they?. Dr T on £0.5 million per year, so will be talked around.

Centrica needs good result from Warwick, their SP heading south!

Let’s move on from watching the paint dry on the Flaring - either within the hour, or next hour, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc or have to wait till AGM, 5th June. With ‘rock collection/watching’ fully funded - someone must know about current well drilling. I guess they are drilling vertically to prove up OWC, not FWL (HE term used a lot - presume that’s not 100% water [correct definition of FWL!]) ? Coring vertical well too? If Warwick OWC is deep or different from Lincoln, if they are not too busy fishing, we could get RNS? before they plug back and drill optimal horizontal well? Lot’s of questions, hope someone knows? ...very little info when god-oodle it on www.
