Carrington, I appreciate things were different back in the 70's, however, this is now. Times change and for the record, women in Iran have not been required to wear a head scarf since 2018/2020. You get why you are focusing on Iran as a 'oppressive' government, I never saw that when I was there in 2018.

Now, oppressive is Saudi, Qatar, India (let's not get into all that) . The Saudis did not let women out on their own, they had to be accompanied by a male relative. But we seldom hear a bad word about them, because they are 'our bad guys', as Donald Rumsfeld once said when asked.

I also understand why Iran attacked all those oil refineries, again, they attacked the US proxies, as the US attacked the Iranians schools, hospitals, oil refineries etc.

But let me make one thing very clear, if you start a war, do not expect those that you attacked to respond exactly the same way, they get to choose how to respond. Not a controlled boxing match with a ref, this is dirty street fighting kinda thing. Once you bomb and kill school children with the most high tech modern equipment available to man, you get what you came for.. a fight.

Anyway, we all have an opinion and I believe our enemy is not way over there. It is much closer to home.

I do believe you have been misled by the media you watch. If you actually look up at where Iran has hit, you will find they struck all the US bases in those 'countries' that you claim they attacked. If the US chooses to house it's bases in those countries and those same countries host the US bases then they are legitimate targets. And by definition 'involved in the war' as US proxies.

If you think otherwise then that's perhaps your view. But also remember, Iran never started this, the US and Israel did. Without provocation. So, please at do me a favour and try not to regurgitate that same old rhetoric that the Israeli PM has been rolling out over the last 32 years.

As for Iran having nukes, I could careless, but if it means mutual destruction and therefore a deterrent to US and Israeli aggression, then so be it. We have it, the French have it and as do many other countries.

I would rather no one has them, serves no purpose other than to threaten people. Yet you feel that they cannot have them as if to imply that a civilisation that is over 7000 years old are not responsible enough, yet a country that is under 500 years old, has used them and within the last 252 years of it's existence has been at war with some country or another for 248 years. That is some serious aggression right there. All I know is that some people are getting very rich from these wars, it's not me. Remember too, that sanctions also kill people not just outright bombings.

Please explain why you think Iran should not have nukes, what you think, not what the media has told you to think.

They don't have nukes, they had the ability to continue with making nukes since the Shah was put into power by the CIA and have chosen not to. they had none back in 1994, 2003, 2015 and still none today. I said noting about them being Jewish, that is not the issue. The issue is that both are pro-Israel and Zionists, which just want the expansion of Israel.

Two very different things. Iranians are also Jewish, in fact one of the first buildings the US/Israel bombed was a synagogue in Tehran. So, they (US/ISrael) actually don't care who they bomb and kill.

As for your last part, not sure where you are getting all that info from in regards to the population are pro Israel, not true at all. I would not believe the Western media on that. I have been to Iran, last time in 2018 on a bike tour and prior to that during the 70's, 80's and once in the late 90's. Never had a problem, other than waiting for visas. Super friendly people, super happy to see us and offer us a helping hand if we needed.

Iran has been sanctioned in one way or another for the last 47 years, they may have proxies in their region as do we and the US, but it is their region. Resistance forces are not terrorists. Otherwise why do not just change the 'French resistance' (1939-1945) to French terrorists?

Clued, not really, they are paying the extra directly to the source, and the source (oil companies that are trading oil) are keeping the prices low artificially. They are buying time, but like an elastic band that keeps stretching, eventually that will break or 'ping' back so fast. The US are hoping to get everything sown up before that happens, so all we'll see is jump then dump of oil price. One 'expert' cannot recall that now, bee watching too many, said that the true price of oil is @$150-160p/b. That is global recession territory.
