I have a friend, but we know we are friends, I don't have to tell them I am their friend or vice versa. So why does a country need to tell everyone they are 'friends'? Oh, because the people of those countries need reminding, as we the people in everyday life experience something very different and cannot see how we can be 'friends'. Because a 'friend' would have mutual respect and a reciprocal extradition treaty, not a one way street. That is known as an abusive relationship, not a friendship.

I hope you realise the the majority of Swiss voters are ok with the Trans community and also have and voted it as a legal and voted in that bit back in 2022.

So, my point being, having a direct democracy style of government does not change anything, other than going to have a vote every 3 months if the central government cannot get agreement within it's own corridors..

If I were to hazard a guess the influx of migrants was a miscalculation on Western governments. The bombing to take resources and put in place their own puppet regime was very deliberate. I would assume they (Western warlords, 'cos that what they are) thought people would either stay in place of go to neighbouring countries, they didn't. They came to countries that had at some time colonised them, so, people from countries that could speak French went to France and Belgium, those that were ruled by the UK came to find hope in the... UK. If not having to navigate a language makes life a little easier then they why would some some that spoke English go to France or Germany. Then ask yourself, how is it that these countries can speak so many European languages, that is not their mother tongue?

intk, that comment about europeans coming to work in the labour arena is a tad misleading.

i hope you are old enough to realise that asians (****stanis, indians) and those from the caribbean came in the 50's, long before eastern europeans. they were doing all the labouring, crappy jobs, bought into the communities, never left. sent money 'back home' for their families but never left. built business', had small shops that stayed open on sundays, changed the way we lived by doing that. on a plus side.

the eastern europeans (and i worked with loads of them, mostly polish and lithuanians) all said they planned on going back home, most bought land back home, built homes there and they left.

it was only the recent influx from bombed out countries that have stirred up hatred within the uk, but that is purely politically motivated.

That has more to do with the low turnover at the Japanese snack vending machines that is a bit of a cult thing In Japan. Lack of staff to keep the machines filled so costs have to be cut across the board and people move away from the vending machines to the local '7-Elevens' and kiosks. But it is more of a silent protest, than anything more.
