So to be clear, the US FED says too many employed people is bad for the economy, the UK has a rising unemployment rate, so exactly what the FED says will be good to bring down inflation... Only it's not! In the case for the UK.
Once all the l BS'ers get on the same page maybe things will stabilise. Or not.

Also, at some point, people need to start doing their own research. The fact is, oil prices impact very little day to day running of anything if the maximum refined is low. Also, the Arab oil is mostly used for petrol, diesel was always coming from Russia, and we know how that worked out for us...

I get the frustration about oil prices dropping, but to understand how diesel and kerosene only represents about 12-15% of total refined fuel. That is combined!
So if demand for diesel goes up, then they refine more of that 12-15% into diesel, so less kerosene is left, vice versa, if demand for kerosene goes up, down goes diesel refining. This never changes in terms of petrol to derv/kerosene ratio.
This can also lead to manipulation of the price 'at the pump'. Add that to the fact that diesel and kerosene are not and sometimes can not be refined at the same petrol refinery.
As an example, early last year and 2020 diesel was about 10p/ rappen/cents per litre cheaper than petrol, now it is 35rp/cents per litre MORE than petrol.
They are not refining as much, this is a problem. The diesel 'glut' during the plandemic was because there was practically zero goods movement.

They want everyone else to buy so they can offload their lot.

Couple that with EU lawmakers taxing airlines for inter-country flights and have yet to decide when to tax long haul flights.
Can EU self-destruct any further I wonder? We are governed by a bunch of bed-wetting morons that makes rules with zero exit strategy and no plans of replacement.

not that would have much impact. Money has left travel, into other stocks and those stocks will keep climbing. Energy is up and will keep going up because of demand, food, also up and demand will go up, as luxuries and 'treats' are cheaper in food form than cars, clothes and travel.
Anyone anticipating IAG to hit the 250-300 range in the next year will be very disappointed. That may not happen until 2025.

So, at this rate we should hit 1.25 by the end of the year?

When travel is actually 'booming' travel stocks are sucking the big one.
I invested heavily in a US food company back in April, it's up 10% and 16% in one year. Today it reached a $1.00 away from it's all time high.
You have to wonder where all the money that was taken out of the markets have gone... and now you know. Food and energy.

About time house prices dropped, over-priced houses means people cannot get onto the property ladder, couple that with high interest rates, rentals become a generational thing.
I also am not a fan of every one owning a home at all costs, it's mostly a UK /US thing, rest of Europe view it differently.
Having said that, lower house prices still wont allow first time buyers onto the market due to high interest rates.
Just glad I dumped our UK properties.

US markets popped today on FED's Powell statement. Could be a year end rally but I missed what he said to warrant that.
But if it carries over into FTSE and EU markets tomorrow, I don't care, as long as it goes up.
Seems like the market liked what he said.

Agree about the lockdowns. Any country or population that allows another BS lockdown deserve all they get in terms of decimation of their economy and likely be thrown back into the middle-ages in every aspect.
