As much as people want the share to rocket up, understandably, I would be okay with 1% per day rise. Does not attract the shorters or day traders that will only add volatility to the sp then it just bounces around all day, everyday.

It's hard to predict next summer's sp for any stock, let alone IAG. No one knows, your guess is as good as anyone's.

Your LTH strategy is as good as any, longer you hold, the higher the returns. For me, LTH means 2-8 years, then will review.

Unlikely, as if you use the analogy of everyone being 'squeezed'in supermarket terms, then we will all be shopping at Lidl, Aldi and Asda. Sainsbury, Waitrose, Fortnum and Mason and Harrods will be shutting down next year.

Yes, the sp has gone backwards, almost as if the better IAG does, the lower the sp. Trying to makes sense of this will drive you insane, don't do it.

'normal'?? No, nothing about any of the stock market is normal at the moment, which is why I think 'they' want people to lose the money they were given during lockdown (more in the US than UK). So much private money was dumped into the stock market during lockdown, hence sp's went through the roof.
The only consolation is that everything is down, even the giants like Apple, MSFT, Tesla, Amazon, Meta.
Just ride it out and wait to collect. Unless your personal circumstances dictate that you may need to sell at a loss, hold.

This is not a personal attack on you.
I do not think anyone is saying that the current price is ALL about dilution.
What I am saying is that dilution is part of why we will not see 350-500 again for a long time. Perhaps 300 is the 'new' 500? I don't know and frankly no one on this board knows either.
Most of us that own IAG are in a similar boat to you, those that are uninvested just like to cause FUD, how you deal with that, only you can decide.
There is a long hill to climb back up, covid and lockdowns have done immense damage to the travel sector, tech went through the roof during lockdown, just look at Peloton, now, look where their sp is.
This will swing back, I have to say that as I am invested otherwise if I did not think that I would have sold this week as I am now in profit.

I think the days of 300+ are either gone or will not come back for at least a decade, share dilution is at least one of those reasons.
If we are lucky, 250 in late 2023 or possibly 2024. My personal off ramp would be 200+, which may happen by summer of 2023, but no biggie if that does not transpire.

The demand is on fuel and energy, these things people just cannot find a 'cheaper brand' or do without. So the rise in interest rates will cause mortgage payment difficulties and lead to even more hardship. It may be better to just leave interest rates where they are/were and let rising energy costs go where they need want to, as no matter what you do to interests, demand for oil and gas is a necessity, unavoidable. OPEC is driving up inflation, plain and simple.
OPEC sees other OPEC members as allies (Putin) not the west and certainly not Biden.

If the FED does not know what it's doing, said as much yesterday, when Powell said they were in unchartered waters going forward. Seems like increasing rates is not have the old desired effect. Perhaps if they stop artificially allowing prices to rise that may help??? But if you help your super rich buddies perhaps now a trickle down effect may work? Also, I know they will not allow their country to shut down, Europe though, that's another matter.
All I was doing was highlighting the possible shortages that are evident and the ways that it could affect airlines or at least use that as an excuse.
We all know the US will find other routes to buy from Russia indirectly and we know that Europe is also doing backdoor deals.

I will tell you what happens when the US runs out of diesel, they will have to go cap in hand and beg Russia to keep supplying them with diesel. Without diesel, trains do not run, trucks stop transporting, buses don't move, the country grinds to a halt and food supply stops.
Now,the US could have mitigated this problem decades ago, but no, they like to have p/ups with 6.0l diesel engines, that do 9 mpg, they like to to run inefficient haulage trucks.
But as John Kerry once told a BBC climate reporter on a hot mic, " America will never change it's way of life for anyone or anything"

We in Europe will also be running a little dry within the next few months and pretty sure those tanks in Ukraine run on diesel..
But, to produce more diesel you have to reduce kerosene production, if you reduce kerosene production, passenger flights will have to be curtailed, to prioritise cargo flights...
