Oil,
Your frustration is getting the better of you, relax.
Yes we will go into a recession according to the BoE as they want people to slow down spending. Will it affect airlines?
Unlikely, as if you use the analogy of everyone being 'squeezed'in supermarket terms, then we will all be shopping at Lidl, Aldi and Asda. Sainsbury, Waitrose, Fortnum and Mason and Harrods will be shutting down next year.
The truth is, most will hardly feel the squeeze, those that do are already in pain financially. And NOT flying off.
It is called the 'Lipstick' model. Holidays are a treat, people will treat themselves, they will decide what they treat themselves to, maybe no new TV or sofa next year, but a holiday? Probably.
We are not completely out of the covid bubble yet, so we have not felt the full effects of everyone feeling 'safe' to travel, that will come and then more flights.
I am sure as a non 'expert' (X-unknown factor, spurt-drip under pressure) I will have someone tell me I'm clueless and don't know what I'm talking about.
I smiled as I wrote that last bit, people are so predictable in their arrogance...
