c50% of silver/gold demand is industrial and China's economy has been slowing for more than 18 months. Only now it seems, do mainstream financial news media realise just how serious it is. US and Europe industrials are fragile too.

For some reason, either political or monetary, China will not unleash the stimulus bazooka to support industry. Instead implementing casual, minor tweaks which have simply instilled even more panic. BHP, Rio, Anglo etc. and lithium miners are all in the toilet too as a result.

i wasn't dancing on hot bricks about h1/24 and tempered the exuberance of some on here, but even for me this production report was poor. h1/23 was a disaster, yet gold production is down another 17% yoy, whilst silver production is merely flat. gold prices might be c20% higher this year, but the production drop and cost inflation mean cash flow generation from gold sales may not be much higher.

keen to see how she finishes the week once the dust has settled, as it actually took a 2% dive this morning before going blue. the 4% rise later looked like nonsense given the poor rns and low volume, as of now it's erased almost all of those gains anyway.

Tullow can rip or dump 20-30% without rhyme or reason. Speculators big and small buy names like this to 2x or more their investment. I don't think Tullow is a very well-run outfit, but I'm not here to buy at 32p, sell at 38p and then call myself an investing genius either, so it's still a hold for me.
