Then it's not a long-term investment is it...As I said, it's a trading index.
Conversely, whether it's S&P 500, Nasdaq, UK, US housing market etc., buying at almost any time (whether lump sum or DCA) over the last 25 years would have netted you a high xx% or xxx% profit, versus today's ask.
One would have had to be highly selective with entry prices on specific FTSE stocks, to even get close to a comparable return, versus just sitting in the aforementioned indices or assets.
