Hopefully there’s a megadeal for an exceptional resource opportunity all ready to be signed tomorrow night, and RNSed 7am Thursday. And Guinness chilling in the fridge ready for the AGM.

Much depends (in the short term at least) on the passage of the climate bill (and the daft amendment seeking to outlaw U mining) through the Spanish parliament. The UK has realised the need for and importance of nuclear, as have others. Will Spain?

I recall having a chat at an AGM at Ashfords Bristol office with the then co sec (Brian ??) from that a/c firm years back when HALO was Wessex and I think still listed on plusmarkets. David Bramhill was Wessex's Chairman or CEO then, and he went on to found UJO I believe.

Ghost you're more up to date than most, certainly me, but the co sec is listed on the website (out of date perhaps) as Matthew Small in Bath, and the lawyer as Simon Staples of Ashfords in Bristol. The 2019 AR has Mr Small as co sec still, and Linklaters in Amsterdam as the lawyers. All are also perhaps worth a try if no-one has yet (maybe the Mr Garland you contacted is at Linklaters though?). They'll presumably feed back to AC the fact that shareholders want updating. Might create a stink to persuade or shame AC into action if nothing else, and professional firms like Linklaters may ultimately have concerns themselves about acting for the likes of HALO if relations with shareholders are deteriorating for want of basic communication.

Good point well made. Increasing NAV should reflect in the SP and protect against discounting in future ANIC fundraisings. I'd like to see some more big independent cornerstone IIs come in too though, to sit alongside just Jim and his mates, widen the gene pool so to speak, and help protect the SP, particularly when fundraising. $450m in the next year is a lot of $$.

HL said the new shares would show in my account "on or around" 12 Nov. Still not there as at 12.20pm today.
As I understand it, open offer entitlements applied for will be received in full, and the excess applied for will be scaled back by ITM because of the over-subscription (by how much is unknown for now but it looks like severely!), and then further adjusted up or down by HL (or whatever platform you're on) because your shares are pooled and held in that platform's one big fat nominee account, and treatment of that nominee account won't exactly reflect your own a/c on the platform.

It’s still very much about funding ANIC to my mind. It’s very capital intensive at this stage, lots of funds raising by the investees, and no divis or profits from share sales yet. Short term raise’n’spend rounds are perhaps inevitable atm, and a PI’s risk appetite must be high, when the ongoing fundraising terms and capital requirements aren’t clear, and generally as we’re basically talking about pioneers in a pioneering sector. It’s tricky for the bod too, they don’t want to make a rod for their own backs either. Cautious adding whilst the SP is sub 6p imo.

Demand for meat alternatives, and expansion of the sector, continues apace, and BYND are not getting things all their own way with McPlant and poor Q3 results. This healthy competition augurs well for the next generation players, hopefully the ones ANIC are now investing in! So ANIC is still a good investment on a medium/long term basis imo.

The next few months also look very exciting with a number of pipeline investments anticipated to complete.

If they get the funding right going forward, this could be a very exciting share. imo

Hopefully sensible voices will prevail, parliament and the senate will acquaint themselves with all the arguments, and a majority won’t be achieved. They should look at Germany for a recent example of how going anti-nuclear is causing more harm than good, inevitably.
Spain would pay a heavy and unnecessary price both in emissions and financially, if it’s only gas turbines backing up solar and wind on cloudy still days, and otherwise being maintained at great expense on standby to avoid grid collapse (something that often doesn’t get factored into the publicized cost of renewables). Just go for safe stable green nuclear, with home grown uranium.

Quite right easyp. And it’s not clever for the anti-nukes in the coalition to argue for this amendment saying that Spain has been able to source 20 years of uranium from “the international market”, whilst knowing it’s sitting on its own high quality uranium source. For example, much uranium gets mined in less safe and less well regulated places like Kazakhstan and Niger, which is much worse for both people and the environment. Is Spain happy to turn a blind eye to that, just as long as it gets the uranium? Out of sight, out of mind? Ok for the Kazakhs and Nigeriens to live with U mining, as long as Spain doesn’t? The phrase double standards springs to mind. Much better for environmental safety, national economic and social benefit, and security of supply, to get it from a safe, visible, properly regulated and scrutinized restore-as-you-go project like its own Retortillo. Going forward, Spain like so many other countries needs uranium, knows it, and will hopefully vote to be part of the solution, not the problem.
