To reach 54.3 p/s over the next 378 trading days (18 months of the LSE 252 days of a trading year) equates to an average rise of 0.114 p/s per trading day).

Just food for thought. When AFC hit its all time high closing price of 83.5 p/s on 8th January 2021 (I realise it went in to the 90's very fleetingly, but that's all it was), there were approx. 676,340,810 shares in issue. With the now approx. 1.3 billion shares in issue that would equate to a share price of 43.44 p/s. If we assume AFC's development has at least kept up with inflation between January 2020 and now - approx 25% CPI) this would give a share price of 54.3 p/s. I will not make predictions on future SP (that is not me as there are so many variables aside from the very simple calculation I've done above) but personally if we were to reach between 50 and 60 p/s in the next 18 months I would be delighted!!

Yes I agree Saxman - I can only go on what has been happening particularly in the past 9 months (I really questioned myself being invested in April when we hit 5.5 p), but the signs are looking positive.

Apologies but I left one thing out on my earlier post. My return assumes that I now have 2.72 x the shares I originally had when I bought on 27th May (i.e. 29920 shares) but at no extra cost (I.e through trading). This investing malarkey is definitely not easy!!

Sad I know but I looked back on my records when I first purchased AFC. It was 27th May 2020 and I bought 11,000 shares at 23.2 p/share (I'd be very happy with share price right now!!) At the time there were 477,362,144 AFc shares in issue and now there are circa 1.3 billion shares . By this metric alone a share today would be worth 8.52 p/share (i.e. the May 2020 shares in issue/today's shares in issue x 23.2 p/share). Whilst the return is not good with a share price today of around 11.2 p and accounting for inflation, the Hyamtec cracker linked to current AFC fuel cells feels a much better proposition than the L series or power towers of a few years ago.

It may just be a case of a dip on tradegate reacting to this. We know the JDA is with an S&P 500 company: and if this bill goes through the S&P 500 be less supported by H2 tax credits. In turn this might mean they drive a harder arrangement with AFC over the terms of the JDA which might be making the market a little more nervous. Of course this is pure speculation on my part and there are so many other factors at play.

Very true the Air Products article has been known all day today and the SP has remained stable. It has made me a little nervous, but having had a (large) paper loss since late 2020 in my hydrogen investments these past couple of months (with so much news and the board significantly buying in) have partially revived my optimism...

Thank you both for your worthy comments. Whilst I believe Air products has in the past (perhaps still do) supplied Hydrogen to AFC for us to use in developing and testing our products, there has never been a link (to the best of my knowledge - which I admit is limited) over any kind of collaboration with Air Products. I agree with Ade it is a bit of a concern on tradegate this evening especially as I topped up with an additional 76K shares at 17.19p today. Hopefully I'd there is a drop it is short lived as there is much to look forward to.

What if any effect will this news have on AFC?

I haven't posted for a while on this chat, but I was intrigued when attending the production of Starlight Express yesterday. As of 2024 Andrew Lloyd Webber has incorporated a new character "Hydogen" in the story alongside the characters representing "steam", "diesel" and "electric" (trains). In the final race "Hydrogen" teams up with the main character "steam" and beats all rhe others. Personally I really don't think the average person on the street if you mentioned the cutting edge companies leading the hydrogen transition in the UK, but this really stood out that it will be on more people's radar.

I got out of AFC (Selling most of my 267k shares) on 6th May for about 30p and at a considerable loss. I am a huge believer in the hydrogen economy and reinvested in ITM, CERES and PHE since (also which as we know are being crushed). What really summed up my loss of faith in AFC is the ridiculous renumeration AB is being paid, the complete lack of communication to its shareholders and the disdain shown to people making serious enquiries about the products to the company. I just thought I ought to share this with the board. A dear friend of mine is the CEO of a large leasing company in the construction industry. They lease a lot of equipment into sites both large and small, and have a lot of resource.
I made them aware of the power tower, and being keen to gain the first mover advantage, they reached out to the company, explaining that they would be interested in taking multiple units once they had been proven, but some 6 weeks later have yet to receive even an acknowledgement to their enquiry."

I will not say that I will never reinvest in AFC again, but the past year it has been a complete train wreck.

Evening all. Somewhat off piste from the recent discussions, but I would appreciate your views on how you feel the customer experience might be with AFC...a desire to delight the customer is touted as being one of the key successes to any business (irrespective of product). Personally I believe the products are making great strides, but having never met anyone in the company (having only seen videos online) whilst there is also evidence of (growing) product sales with numerous strategic partners, does AFC delight customers with enthusiasm and customer service? Personally I feel AB and AFC must be doing certain things right, but the jury's out whether they are delighting customers with their enthusiasm and customer service...any valid comments would make interesting reading. Thank you.

Great presentation from Peel Hunt. The best I have seen since starting investing in AFC (May 2020) in bringing an overview of where the company is at. I (as I am sure many of us) would just love to know is whether multiple Chitty Chitty Bang Bang containerised fuel cells (with whacking great AFC logos) are going to come out of the factory doors anytime soon?!

Thank you all for commenting on my original post. As per usual lots of very sensible and valid comments. Regarding Dessertwolf. his scepticism over AFC's (and particularly AB's) potential lack of performance over the timescale from last year's bullish half year report until now, if I had sold out in the 60's (say in October) I would be a whole lot better off now! However I have waited and waited believing the tide will turn; and (unless the company goes bust - v. unlikely in the next two/three years bearing in mind the cash in reserve) I know it will turn at some point.I also believe (with the red diesel subsidy removal on all but a few exptions from 01.04.22 and the very unfortunate situation in Ukraine pushing gas (and oil) prices ever higher, the inflection point for AFC could be drawing closer. We just need a decent order from a reputable company to give the market the reassurance we have valid product(s); and even better would be to show AFC are the market leader in producing the most economically viable product able to take less pure (and therefore cheaper) hydrogen than its competitors and longevity of its products (I recall the electrodes have been a subject for discussion q. recently). Mucksy's comments about school leavers also made me think of a relative currently studying chemical engineering and when my relative told me of this, I immediately thought of AFC. Whilst I am somewhat in the red in my investments in AFC currently (and therefore not taking Warren Buffetts number one piece of advice of not losing money!) I firmly believe one really good piece of news (coupled with a fair breeze in favour of the hydrogen sector which has been lacking these past months), the momentum will shift considerably...Remaining positive.

I have never posted before, but have read with a great deal of interest many of the posts put on here over the past eighteen months or so and been invested in AFC since May 2020 (I realise this is nothing like as long as some of you good LT investors). The biggest issue which has flummoxed me with AFC is the lack of news. I realise there are good things potentially in the pipeline (with ABB, Altaqua, Mace, Acciona etc.), but surely a decent commercial sale is around the corner?! I so want this company to succeed as (the planet needs this clean technology)....come on AFC show us shareholders some of those cards you are holding (good or not so good. - at least we'll know where we stand!).
