RE: Short positions8 May 2026 11:11
Many thanks Eastwood Myoung and everyone. Much appreciated. Perhaps my methodology is wrong, but using MYoung's figures, there are a total of 20,869,907 shorted shares at a total value of £33,487,992.76 or an average of 160.46 p/s. For arguments sake lets say all the shorts closed now @ 171.20 p/s, this would be worth £35,729,280. Using 688 million shares in issue, this would add about 5.19 p to the share price (i.e. £35.729280 million /688 million x 100 (to convert from pound to pence). All other things being equal and not accounted for (e.g. sentiment, news, geopolitics etc), unless my methodology for my calculation is incorrect, I am bot clear on how people are arriving at £2.50 or even over £4.00 per share just from the shorts closing. Best
