Clearly you can't, and where are the volumes similar to Monday's trade? Which I would think is related to today's RNS. I have no idea how the intricacies of the dark trading world work, but you'd think there'd be further RNS's associated with this, but on the sell side.

Nige, Blackrock didn't purchase 4.6%. Their RNS added up to an increased holding of 1.16%. The Blackrock RNS didn't come close to covering Monday's trade.

Yes the RNS states

The RNS also states that there are no previous positions

The rules around accumulating shares via 3rd parties must be too lax, if 12% can be accumulated on the quiet.

Assuming that Altice didn't buy their stake from DT, between Altice and DT they own nearly a quarter of BT, it makes you wonder

I agree that the current response is underwhelming, but the only reason the "market doesn't like the news" is due to Altice advising that they aren't looking at making a bid for the company. A 12.1% holding at the current price is an investment of approximately £2.2 Billion, which is a serious amount of money. How the market can effectively ignore that is beyond me. I suspect we'll see some more leaps higher in the near future, with the current "underwhelming" reaction part of the market games.

If an RNS like this one was published about any other company, then the stock price would have rocketed, currently we're up less than 2%. Is there something wrong with this picture? How can Altice take a 12.1% stake and the share price be relatively stagnant. Just shows how dysfunctional, and detached from reality, that the current market has become. Of course if the price increases, then it costs more for the big players to accumulate, I agree with KOTB's post stating "Hold, buy and accumulate".

In the RNS they've stated"

"Altice UK has informed the BT Board that it does not intend to make a takeover offer for BT and will be bound by that statement for the purposes of Rule 2.8 of the UK's Takeover Code."

They should add, "Not currently", lol

Actually, anyone who booked foreign holidays while the pandemic is ongoing are either gamblers, or stupid. In a fluid situation rules change, and the Portugal change wasn't the first during the Pandemic, so if people want to chance it that there wont be rule changes, they can't complain when it happens.
As far as offering vouchers, rather than refunds, the CMA might disagree with you, and if they win in court the Airlines could face fines and compensation claims.

I've had a few conversations about gambling on holiday destinations. At the end of the day, the people who were caught out in Portugal only have themselves to blame, no sympathy.
The CMA probably have a really strong case against Airlines, refusing cash refunds, where customers were effectively banned from flying due to a change in the law. The Airlines were gambling when they sold their tickets, and deserve no sympathy if they broke consumer law, same as the Portugal Holiday makers who were caught out.

I haven't seen anything to suggest BT should retrace. Disregarding the recent large trade, the economy is due to reopen and I expect market optimism will increase, boosting stock prices.

If I'm reading this correctly, which I'm probably not, Blackrock actually decreased their holding in 8A by 0.63%, but increased their holding under 8B by 1.79%. Overall they only increased their holding by 1.16%, but yesterday's trade accounted for around 4.56%, so isn't fully covered under this notification.
It isn't very often I look at RNS's, I'll happily be corrected by those more in the know?
