What I’ve been told is the US is getting sold, not because of the dollar, it’s purely they the investors are spooked. Large fund managers are getting calls from HNWI’s to sell.

Make of that what you will, I’ll also been told the insurance sector is seen as defensive and has been attaching inflows for some time.

Your comment on Trump trolling the debt markets, to be fair I watched Musk and the Doge committee, smart people getting to grip with the deficit, has to be done. With the predictable response from the Democrats.

As I’ve said previously businessmen need to rule the world and show compassion and kindness. It’s obvious, and definitely not solicitors.

The $1000 question is will the share price fall back to the previous support levels. Without mentioning the present Labour government and of course the recent Spring statement, and no growth, what will support the share price.

There is a view that even though the government are unpopular, they are in fact stable. Add to that the rotation that is happening out of US stocks, and the short term head winds by Trump,

I’m not so sure the historic lows seen post dividend will be repeated here.

Of course it’s just a view, CNBC keep quoting record outflows from US funds, and that money has to go somewhere. U.K. interest rates are also scheduled to reduce, so investors need to be minded that selling out before the Dividend and winning that way, may not be the high five success of previous years.

The shares on a bit of a recovery. There has been some large buys the last few days, I’ve been checking the UT’s the end of the day. It’s up nearly 10% since my buys in the 330 region. Regardless of how the business is doing my view, investors are clearly anxious of missing out on any news and taking positions, it’s the prudent thing to do.

Something to think about

The problem with the stock market is too much information. Anyone, with an ounce of common sense should really take the view, don’t bet against the Chinese. I’ve maintained the same position since buying. It was so obvious it was in fact laughable.

I would also add the market has renewed optimism in Asia. That fact in itself will drive Prudential with the added carrot of the ICIC listing/sale should be enough to support the share price, and not forgetting the share buybacks.

Why sell now

They are accelerating the buyback and mention news on the ICICI listing, 2nd half of this year.

My mind they are looking to reduce share count at these low levels, the ICICI listing will obviously boost the shareprice, so maybe prudent to roll that over while the buyback is in place.

I’m betting that the share price will gain in value, purely based on a decent set of results, but more importantly on forward guidance being confident going forward.

I would agree buy backs support the share price. Also good Numbers from Phoenix yesterday.

I would say rotation is also playing its part. I’ve been buying Prudential for a year or so, it’s not a great divi player but it’s now showing signs of recovery which ties in with the general thinking that this particular sector is attracting investors.

Labour talking about welfare cuts, is also good for markets.

Rollins has a PE of 50. The new CFO from flutter has a history of listing companies on the NY market, I’ve just refreshed my memory. I would say maybe the hedge funds have £3 in their sights with the bots hence the downward price action.

It’s going to be a bit dicey for them to continue their path any further, news could break any day. If the London market is not supporting the business, the PE is what below 15, then something will change, and that scenario has to be good for shareholders if you take a rational approach.

I can’t disagree with anything mentioned here. Pokerchips as you rightly allude to, the market needs to see RTO do the work. As we know the bet is if Trian can turn this around, I’m obviously in the ‘yes’ camp.

I would say the US is just experiencing a temporary pullback nothing more, for the inevitable ride higher in the second half of the year. As PokerChips has quoted someone will be whispering in Trumps ear to wind his neck in. The FED will be cutting rates, earnings are ok, no

alarming recession indicators are flashing.

I’m of the same view with RTO as what’s happened at Unilever, that’s share price escalation,

and I don’t see a lot of downside at these levels, so I’ll just buy more, it’s a simple strategy which serves me well, I buy normally in 3 tranches over time.

LWHL, I would say that Investors shouldn’t forget that RTO have had some significant changes at the top of the business regarding personnel. It’s quite clear as you point out and I agree Andy Ranson has had enough time to sort the business out.

I’m personally of the opinion that with the points above noted, it’s a bit fool hardy to be of this share at present. Yes £3 could come, maybe on the back of stagnation, but interest from a 3rd party could come at anytime.

Personally, I think if the company decided to part company with Ranson that move would be seen as a positive. Trian will get him out in the end, it’s a matter of time the same scenario as the woke CEO at Unilever. His days are numbered, he needs to move on and the company needs new direction.

Pokerchips, I’ve noticed that you mentioned you have been on holiday. So, you obviously missed my previous post, stating that investors who question Labours tenure, are labelled disgruntled tories. It’s a common defence mechanism. As I’ve said to you previously at Davos

it was made perfectly clear that large US money were not happy with the Exchequer.

You can puff and wheeze all you like, but that’s the state of play. The press are releasing snippets of Rachel’s forthcoming budget to the dismay of some of Labours front bench,

austerity is on the cards.

So, the latte drinking sandal wearing lefties will have the predictable meltdown. There may be a bit of good news, nothing to do with Sir Keir. I would say finally the US will rotate out of high priced tech and you are probably seeing some buying here as a result of that.

It’s been good for Starmer the conflict in Ukraine, it’s masked the issues that are happening in the U.K. Rachel’s next budget will probably have to be one of austerity, the NI and minimum wage, worker rights have not been priced into the economy.

Unfortunately, the US can’t actually admit the cause of the Ukraine conflict but Robert Kennedy will give you the answers, hence why Trump has taken his stance.

It’s good for governments, wars, Labour need a boost, but they are just delaying the inevitable

and hopefully the electorate will see through it all.

What has this got to do with Lgen share price, quite simple really it will probably retreat unless Labour get their act into gear and concentrate on Blighty, which of course they won’t do because they are the social elites and they must govern the world, so we all go down the toilet together.

Some good points mentioned. There is also an outside chance that Labour May do something speculative in the budget to try to stimulate growth. Seeing as they made such a dogs dinner of the last one in the Autumn, and are losing ground to Reform, Rachel may have to be creative, to stimulate consumer confidence and thus spending, and get them as a party back in the game.

My view every share price wobble is being bought back into. Yes, Trump has created a bit of short term volatility, but look at Stan Chart, HSBC, the large insurance sector has been reporting good growth.

I tried to buy this morning some more shares but missed the boat. I’m betting on decent results and 5% uplift minimum.
