Good post glennfernie, we ll at least I liked reading it! I have dealt with them over the years on a business front and it must have been poor management that got them into this state! I would hope that they continue to win jobs and that their name is still held in high regards in the industry.....that will mean more contracts as the economy improves. Okay they have a £90 million debt pile and a market cap of £7million but I would have thought £90million is relatively small compared to others...yes ok it has to be covered but what was their market cap value before the stock market fall? A lot more that is for sure. I dont want a quick win here just a steady increase and return to a healthy business! All IMHO of course!

I just love these types of rises especially on down on their luck shares that appear to have hit rock bottom! I know this is just my feelings on some of my shares but have seen it on UNIQ and JLP and GKP but alas some go the other way....anyway, let us see what happens and fingers crossed that it goes back to the 20p days as a minimum. I have bought in at 12p and now in profit....come on the Consultants and dont go bust on me!!!!!!!!

I cannot see any real news yet a very healthy jump! Could this be on the road to some form of recovery or at least stability? Any comments would be good!

Titanic....what does that post do? Sorry but that big long list gives us nothing that is not shown on the front page and the last buy was in April!!! I would like to see some movement and positive things come out from here, if you read the history of posts...you would stay well away from this company! Foolishly maybe I have bought in and watching now with interest to see if they are really that bad...it sounds to me as though the directors dont value the PI's...we shall see!

Avacta seeks further acquisitions Business Financial Newswire Biophysics firm Avacta continues to seek further acquisitions. The firm says it wants to establish itself as a significant provider of products and services to support businesses in the life sciences sector. A trading update says the second half of the year saw the launch of Optim, Avacta's flagship product. Avacta says: "Optim is a revolutionary bench top instrument which provides drug developers with vital information at an early stage of the drug development process and has the potential to dramatically reduce the overall cost of bringing drugs to market." Avacta said it had received strong positive response from its initial sales and marketing activity and has consequently developed a validated pipeline of lead customers that support its sales targets for FY2010. It said the recently acquired YorkTest Veterinary Services had been successfully integrated into Avacta's York base with sales 14% up on the same period last year despite the current poor economic climate. YorkTest Veterinary services has now changed its name to Avacta Animal Health to underline the aggressive plans for expansion of this business beyond its historical core testing services. Avacta's trace gas analysis technology is also advancing. The successful integration of Oxford Medical Diagnostics into the Avacta Group will be completed this summer as the team in Oxford move to the York site.

Good grief, I was not expecting this fall! Another one of my punts going off the rails along with QTI and GGG....I guess they were gambles! As for the buying levels....some very big sells and then after lunch lots of buys....is this just the day traders or is there imminent news?

I am not sure if this is good or bad...or just factual. I guess I still dont understand that they need a partner to develop the resource, yet the only partners you are going to get in China is the Chinese government and they are not going to give you fair market value! Round and round you go! Guess I am just gutted I have lost over half my money on this....when I thought I was buying into something exciting! Here is the email from Jeff...... Well I have nicely emailed the company and asked why this has happened and what is the purpose of an exploration company that discovers big reserves and then sells them at a fraction of the cost! For some reason they have not responded yet! Does anyone think these will go under as their resource has been removed??

Looking at the price go down...what is the point of selling at a huge loss......here goes another gamble.....I am not in for a fortune but every £ counts these days.... just dont get how people can make informed decisions when PI's are just manipulated like this!

They must be trading but suspect it is insider others that can sell before the market opens! Another bomb here then! Great

When the end of the bad news happen across these equity markets??? Reading these threads there was such hope and excitement and valuations and then you read that release and it sounds like they have valued Nimu at next to nothing agreed a price and accepted and then they pay the tax and there is nothing left for us! Is this a case of the Chinese government taking over full stop. They allow companies to come into China on a joint venture until they discover something of value and then take it? Or are the Directors sorted but the PI's screwed again?? Cynical but yet another red appears on my list when I thought the only way up with this one!

Next time QTI goes anywhere near 0.30...remind me to sell.....I cant see this going much past there anymore....I think I am going to have to cut my loss well dealing charge as I bought at .30....I cannot see the value of this company going much past that .3 to .4 range.....any thoughts?

Lost the chance on this got to stick and watch now...that is depressing the share price still showing .30 and yet 0.16!!!!!!

Why did this shoot up over the last 2 days when the actual news is that they have not yet sorted ongoing funding? It would be great to get that RNS report today and then watch this fly from a decent base point!

gee what with QTI yesterday and 50% increase and now this one is at it! I hope this sticks and shoots to previous levels....I got in at 13.6 when I was all excited about the energy side and they appeared to be well connected and established in the industry.....fingers crossed this is the start of something big and better!

yes Melv fair advice there, it is knowing when a share is rising and will continue, I have had JLP that has shot up and now down, GKP that shot up on selling the Jolly Ranch stake and now lower than lows...perhaps the stop loss is a good thing to start using, I am endangering my investments, I thought I would start to play when the market was lowest of the low.....but not sure now when that will happen......after another 106 point drop in ftse today it does make me nervous! I am in QTI and that was the biggest riser in the market today..but with that....get out 1t 25% up or leave to run, I invest hundreds not thousands so gains not huge but neither are losses! I have since read naked trader and realise I have done it all wrong!

I bought in at .30 so sat on a decent profit from one of the shares I had regretted buying! Shows what I know about investing lol...thought the spread had killed me! Is this going to go the same way as the May lift or do we think that this is all positive onward and upward stuff? Could this share really head up to a £1 or is that pipe dream stuff and take profit at .60 and call it fair? Buying is easy selling is hard!
