What's changed since last week? OK clocks have gone back, darker evenings are upon us, weather also changed gloomy as hell here, in fact i haven't sèen the sun since last week and for dramatic effect that was last month. On that looking at the SP movement and it's fallen every day so far this month, every day! Granted that's only one and a half but looking at the end of last month the same pattern. In conclusion I feel we're at the start of a self fullfilling doom cycle, the end is nigh, we're all f**ked.
But wait a minute, as I look west I can see a small patch of blue, checking the weather radar and it's real and coming this way, must remember to keep calm and carry on. Right, with my new found optimism what do I see for tomorrow? Well, for recent updates we've gone in on a spike to only fall back harder, are we seeing the opposite, have those who would have bought to sell on news already sold therefore we may see less pressure tomorrow with prospective buyers out there? First thing to read in the morning, what was the actual cost, as David said if it was materially different they would have had to let us know, second question, will the attack lead to longer term impacts? Doubt it but now I know, great we draw a line under the uncertainty and move on, and it's only 7.05. Rest of my or our time can be left to consider what the figures are saying about more recent and current trading and what does the future look like. Bish bash bosh, job done let's see what the market thinks when it opens.
What else to look forward to, theres a slim chance of a rate cut, it won't go up so worst case it's a hold which is a expected so not bad news. Inflation could see a small fall and house prices increase, all good. Then we have the budget, hmm, we got hit last time, will they make the same mistake and risk increasing food inflation? Don't think they're that daft, there was even talk of help for the struggling food retailers, you know the ones that are making record profits!
Could we fall further, possibly, as the warning goes, prices can go down as well as up, but they can also go up and definitely at some point will, bet it's a Friday!
For me, for now, it's time to make a brew, make no rash decisions but simply hold and wait for tomorrow and then Christmas, then the next trading update, by which time days will be getting longer and we'll only be a couple months off spring.
Good luck all.
