Anagnostaras-Adams' departure from EMED 'a surprise to everybody'
The departure of Harry Anagnostaras-Adams from his position as ceo of junior miner EMED Mining came as a surprise to both the board and the shareholders of the company.
“I think the upshot of it all was there was a full and frank discussion at the board table about where we were going and what the next step would be for EMED,” John Leach, finance director and cfo, told Metal Bulletin.
“Clearly, the next step is still [obtaining permits]. We believe we’re close, and, at the end of the day, it was agreed by all parties that if there was a time for transition to a new ceo, it was now.”
The decision was made at a board meeting in September, and Anagnostaras-Adams resigned immediately; EMED Tartessus ceo Rod Halliday has taken over in the interim.
