I think its important not to conflate the reasons why the asset is likely to be sold with its potential sale value. This depends on a strategic investor coming on board with a multi-billion funding package. NPV is just a starting point for negotiations. ZIOC does not call the shots. That said, any sale will make 10p look like a very cheap entry for PI's.

Exactly, £280m sunk costs will either prove to be money well spent or money wasted. That's it. It won't be significant factor in any price negotiation for ZIOC stock and so far as it would viability, ZIOC would just have to drop the point.

No reason at all. But Zanaga is not a working mine and ZIOC is not building a mine without serious investment. Those investors who will be committed to that process will stand to reap major rewards if they pull it off, and so they should. ZIOC will get a part of that but it needs an investor and that is a key component of today's real world value. It doesn't matter what I say as I will wait and see - and I suspect most PI's here will do the same, as it is likely to be well north of 10p when it comes.

Wishful thinking perhaps. I am an experienced PI having been investing in small caps for 25 years. I first invested here about 15 years ago, and I'll be happy with any profit. Multiples are really forthcoming and usually not as high as retail investors would hope for. This is the real world and ZIOC is but a small player in this deal; and so whilst I expect any buy out price would be north of 100p I do not count on it being any more than that. And ultimately I have no real say in the matter either.

I could not disagree more as we were led to expect a string of (pre-planned) announcements following the Arise RNS. I think the briefing will be to brief investors on possible future options the main ones being sale of entire project now or a split deal which sees ZIOC with a carried future stake. It may be that investor interest is being firmed up. The early buy out option will not realise the full potential value of stage 2 but of course that is to apportion credit for the new investor's risk.

My "late" buys at 8 and 9p don't look too bad from today's perspective as long as 11th February Investor briefing and news in the interim is not a total damp squib. I don't think it will be anything but positive, but there's still potentially a long way to go unless it is a complete buy out deal. I think any Strategic investor would want a deal done now to take out Zioc and to maximise the future revenue uplift. 100p+ looks reasonable for that (x6 for a quick deal). I'm not sure it would go much higher, maybe sub 200p for an early divestment - though I will have my fingers crossed that we will benefit from tough negotiating and being aligned with Directors who have waited a long time for this moment to pass.

Bought my last few, before the short wait for news. Not entirely sure why I didn't do it sooner (at cheaper price) but at leaat I did pick up a decent stake around 5p a few weeks ago.

Why did not Glen just buy out ZIOC if a valuable deal was just around the next corner?
