I hope you managed to secure some good profits from these before the drop, any thoughts on ECV? Seem to be growing well in domestic markets, and getting some attention from abroad now for their green technology, just entering the profit making stage. Seems a solid investment for the long-term, hence why I bought in today despite the recent rises, once I was satisfied that there was still potential upside in the short-term, due to very limited number of shares in public hands because of huge Director holdings. I am sure you will DYOR so GL either way

will have a look in a while, certainly an exciting prospect, maybe they should merge with ACTA :) I think the next few years will see an even more definite swing towards green technology and there will be many more "green" investment funds fighting for holdings in the most innovative and financially attractive companies.

certainly seems to respond to buying so MMs cant have loads of these, according to ECV website updated last Tuesday, there is less than 46 million shares in public hands! happy days

fannied around for too long and could have got cheaper, but what sealed it for me was seeing the holdings the directors have. Shows their confidence and means limited shares avaliable for the market. Anyone think 10p by new year is over optimistic or a good target?

been following this one and the more I read about them the more I want to sell some of my BSST to get in here! Already got small amounts in PLE and SRE, both looking like very good finds! Seems like this could be another safe long-termer, but I could really do with making some in the short-term to fund all these great opportunities! thanks mate must have remembered it wrong! Could have sold up here to fund other opportunities but dont want to miss any sudden rise when further news comes out, so holding and largely ignoring this company otherwise it will too be frustrating!

fair enough mate, I'll keep an eye on it as it seems to have found some support at 40p, there was talk on that BB of an 80p offer being rejected, rumour I presume, but what do you think caused the severe drop there? sorry for being off-topic

speaking of punts, are any of you still in EPO? I was thinking last night about what the tip today would be and came up with EPO, looking very cheap and could rocket on T/O offer, even without the T/O expecting profit next year, seems like a similar play to MONI, any thoughts?

I think I got mugged paying just under 35p, got a LP and thought Lloyds usually give a competitive price, luckily I'm willing to hold this for six months or more so hopefully wont be too worried about a few pennies!

at least we have 10% of any future profits as a base for dividends for us patient PI's, it might even take a few of us by suprise how much profit they are making! Hopefully when we hear about the other products they are developing for sectors other than banks will we start to see some appreciation in the SP! we will see

I made a similar mistake to you on this one, dont know why as I have seen it before and bought on a spike too many times! But here we are! I actually sold my small holding after seeing circa 30% wiped off the value of my investment due to very bad timing, but only because I believe I can make that money back on another share and hopefully earn a small amount so that I can repurchase shares in HIF before takeover news is out. I dont like to sell at a loss, but I had nothing else I was willing to sell, and it may only be a small silver lining but it will increase my capital gains allowance a little......... Basically I'm not badmouthing or deramping HIF as I see potential for good profit either from a takeover or a long-term hold, but I believe I can make more in the mean time from investing elsewhere......although I might miss the takeover offer and you will be very happy you held! who knows............GL

anyone have any thoughts on the four big trades recently? 3 trades almost certainly connected on Friday, totalling 800,000 shares at approx £200,000, and another came through late on Thursday for 100,000 shares. The value of these trades may not be that significant when you consider nearly 140 million shares in issue, and market cap of £35million, but I have noticed that the volume here on most days is very low. Anyone know of any sellers in the background here, or am I wrong and they are all buys? VLK is an interesting prospect but I need to know more.........

been watching PVCS for a while, seems like a solid company but not really got moving yet! Was looking to get in sub 70p but whilst researching the sector I came across Nanosolar, does anyone know about them and their CIGS technology? Not currently listed so no way of investing in them, but one to look out for I think. Would appreciate any thoughts
