Just reading back through the Belerion statement. One point that I am still unclear on is whether the "third unsolicited, highly preliminary and indicative non-binding proposal of 170" relates to Belerion having made two previous approaches that were not disclosed or different parties altogether. Frustrating because IMO the statement isn't exactly clear and is one of the reasons why the SP hasn't reached the 170 floor yet.

Cynical mob cartel are all words that spring to mind when looking at these revised ratings. I can't see how the have the front to update as a reiteration after results and cut just as a potential buyout is looming.

A lot of us on the forum agree the 'fair value' is closer to the IPO and not the £2.50 that keeps getting floated around. However, we can't be sure an offer will materialise at this level . If MM rejects any low ball offers and the bidders walk away, there is a very real chance the usual mob will look to sink the SP again. I am now thinking about the next phase of how this may play out inc. defence against another short attack.

A week now since the announcements and Belerion still very much in play. I think Belerion will make the first move and Candy will follow probably around the £2.50 mark. Hopefully MM stands firm and rejects any offers at this level . Not unreasonable to think we could see a second round of bidding later in the year at a higher level - this will no doubt be a test for all us LTHs!

The candyman will be known as a tyrekicker if he backs out given what happened with Chelsea.

The market (which is summarised by that imbicile Guardian reporter) thinks MM is bluffing. What we know is that MM is an expert at making deals and raising capital. I strongly believe that the announcements wouldn't have been made if the board didn't believe something was going to materialise - they just wouldn't give any more ammunition to harm the SP further.

Exicting couple of weeks ahead - no doubt the SP will be tested and the weak sellers will cave in. I fully expect more PE to throw their hat in the ring by the end of the week . One thing is for sure, I will not be selling a single share!

Really can't see how this goes for less than £4 PS if MM is such an honest bloke like everyone keeps saying. Whilst a slight discount may be justified given inflation etc, I think to accept the company is only worth half of when floated is taking the p*ss.

Bizarre that we had RNS over Candy approach when others were only mentioned on the investors call at a later date. Hopefully we will see some of the big boys enter the fold next week!

Just to play devil's advocate, is there a chance here that MM and his pals are out to shaft shareholders by taking THG private on the cheap? We know the link between Belerion/THG (Iain Mcdonald) and MM/Candy are rumoured to know each other socially.

This isn't going private for less than £5.00 per share! MM has consistently said all targets have been exceeded and balance sheet is strong. Candy needs to be prepared to stump up IPO value or walk away now. There will be a shareholder's revolt if sold on the cheap!

Couldn't agree more Cantona. Hopefully, we see a re-rate of 220+ in the short term. Just hope we see more interested parties join the fold, so the 170 offer isn't used as justification to agree a cut price deal with Candy.

SP picking up on point 4 - I agree the sector is ripe for disruption. As a 5-10 year trend, I think we will see an expansion on the 'last mile logistics' with smaller click and collect hubs on the High Street and similar (possibly using autostore or similar tech to maximise floor area) taking over Amazon's established model and benefitting from a consumer shift to D2C.

Excellent close, given all the red lights flashing with the economy I did think this would go sub 100 at the start of the week. Feeling positive that the SP has turned a corner now even if a buy out doesn't materialise.

IMHO the long term prospects for Amazon aren't great. I've been an FBA seller so understand better than most. The majority of items sold on amazon is just crap from Alibaba with amazon fees now ridiculous. For example an item that is FBA selling for £9.00 attracts £4.00 Amazon fees. The buisness works on fleecing third party sellers and sham reviews. D2C is a much better model and I think we will start to see a shift away from Amazon soon.

There is a clear albeit volatile growth pattern emerging. Looks like March/April 90's resistance levels have been surpassed. Would be nice to see the SP get to 115 today for the bank holiday weekend!
