Taking the small loss (after divs 240 quid).. made half of that back on the first trade.. learning curve for sure on this stock .. I suspect the company is going places - liked the financials. Fenewables subsidy was a removal of a cherry off the icing... fundamentals very good long term) - no wonder the VC's want it SP wont move from 183.5 until either 185 is paid or it all collapses.. no .. its not OK.. but there is nothing illegal about selling a large stake and then buying back in .. lots of companies do it.. The difference is that Infinis is not a large enough or traded enough company to raise alarm bells ... and proving malign intent would be difficult as its pretty much what hedge funds do. Whats not to like on their position - they drip down the shares (make a pile of cash) and buy back in overall lower. Even without the subsidies Infinis is a growing highly cash rich company offering a solid return. So all those directors with large holding at average prices over 230 ... oh dear !

No Anth63 .. dont sell.. the deal is a total consideration of 185p... so when the deal goes through thats what you get (no deal charges I think).. if you sell you get 183.25 (and pay dealing charges) ... so a small margin. If you need the money quickly then sell and loose another 0.8%

Overall I loose 4%... but on the plus side I was sitting yesterday on a stock I needed to keep for 3+ years to more or less break even I particularly like the phrase "We believe that this transaction offers Infinis' shareholders an attractive cash consideration" .. err not for me ... offer 195 and we can call it a deal !

first lot I bought were 942 (second lot 1113 though) .. my average is 1045 .. so quite happy there is a strong upside

More regulator hurdles with Arris (will probably go through end of the year early next year ... its a maybe (high risk) as if Arris does not happen then the effect on Pace may not be great ... took my (modest) profit

Looked last week and probably should have got them then, but wanted to extract a bit more out of another stock .. so 75% more shares .. roll on next year (a bit volatile in the short term), but even interest rate rises will have only limited effect

Vote on 19th For each Pace plc Share: 132.5p in cash and 0.1455 of a New Arris Share. With Arris at 28.20 USD that represents (excluding charges) an equivalent price of 398 (ish) .. a bit down from the 420 sort of muted earlier

I bought some more on friday just as they started going up .. av price now above BE and had the first divi from the first lot .. into profit ! I am sure it will dead cat bounce about a bit, but long term is solid

well bit the bullet on the news outlook and bid... bough a few more... so now my BE has come right on down... the increase capacity coming out of Iran will keep the price down a bit but long term all looks good

I know .. I heard that interview as well ... overpaid wazzock spouting unsubstantiated pish ... was just guessing to sound important. When the Saudi's change their policy (either by design, or because they run out of money).. the oil price will rise and along with it the stocks... how much may be based on how much cash the Saudi's have left to do this again (so can they invest for long term - oil field development to cash-flow can be years)

Solar (and other renawables) are a very long way from making a major dent in Oil - it will happen but the timeframe for any real impact is 10+ years... The problem is one of active storage and suitable synthetic replacements. Oil is low because the Saudi's are flooding the market and keeping the price down in the vain attempt to kill of shale and some Renawable .. just delays the point... So long as the oil companies manage their free cash flow, then significant dividends will follow

Lots of noise but like so many stocks they are no so much value driven as driven by expectations on future earnings and dividend growth. This (like all oil stocks) has a massive element that seems pegged to the barrel price of oil which is low and bubbling around. Shell yields over 7% and even if in the mid term that yield fell to (say) 5% the upside growth as oil goes back to $70 (its long term sustainable figure) is large. So here I am sitting on a notional 21% loss but an income of over 7% and the high probability I will sit on a 20-30% profit in less than 2 years. The depressed price is largely driven by the Saudi's irrational behaviour - they cannot fund it for ever and far from putting shale out of business will just defer it

Interesting that when the government pulled the subsidy plug and Infinis dropped .. and dropped .. and dropped a bunch of people harped on about manipulation as (one of the reasons) Drax had bounced significantly back. Well I note that Drax has settled back slowly and sits approx 35% below its drop point and Infinis about 38% (depends on what number you used)... not much difference really. SP keeps testing levels and has the feel of a slow recovery about it. I expect it to steadily rise over time
