Brussels, 27 April 2016 The European Commission has approved under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition of Baxalta Inc. by Shire plc. Baxalta is a global pharmaceutical company incorporated in the United States. It specialises in rare diseases and advancing innovative therapies in haematology, immunology and oncology. Shire is a Jersey-registered, Irish-headquartered global specialty biopharmaceutical company active in neuroscience, gastrointestinal and internal medicine, ophthalmics and rare diseases. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns. Although both companies focus on the development of treatments for specific rare diseases, they target different diseases with dissimilar therapeutic indications and only have in common the fact that a small number of patients suffers from these diseases. Their businesses are therefore complementary. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. I thought I had missed something .. re went over the financial report .. nothing really jumps out other that the company lags a bit behind in ROCE .. but debt coming down, good throughput, decent projects and plenty of margin ... just don't get why its down from 1200 in the middle of last year (that was a tad overvalued though)

so last june they said 1670 (up from 1300+), now its 1450... is this an upgrade or a downgrade If this is their target price possible for a year thats a 50% ish upgrade Still very undervalued

I tried last year but even though I have more than the 64 shares tge scheme had stopped or they refused as the shares are in a sipp...

yup..that why I took the cash and sold the remaining shares... bit of a con really as there was no value created to distribute.. just re-accounting

expect a decent dividend on the back of those results ... all bodes well for 1200+ in 12-18 months ... on a sector average valuation would be there already

what is going on .. more up and down that a tarts draws !

when it all runs out ... they will be back riding camels as most of it has been frittered away by a tiny elite

Does seem a bit of an over-reaction - the statement says they expect to achieve their sales targets and ROCE.. some planning consents are a bit late (but that rather pushers next years figures further into the black) I bough a whole bunch more at 1026.. wish I had waited so probably not going to buy more (can't have too much in one place) but this is a solid medium term stock. price drop testing a tenner .. prob wont go below, but no great reason .. so bought more.. my av price is now very close to current price .. so looking forward to a nice wee earner
