RE: Positive BMN numbers19 Jun 2018 11:49
Interesting threads this morning. I am reminded of the post a few days ago listing 'The Bashers Handbook' but am not suggesting any nefarious activity.
Both Pdub and NickD doing an excellent balancing job.
I have already said I feel some elements of the proposed mining charter run contrary to both common justice and coherence in building an 'invest $100B here' story but I have read and note the following over the past 6 months:
1. SA is a very much more business friendly place since Zuma (I have a number of SA friends and they are a lot more positive)
2. Ramaphosa has a long term heavy investment plan for SA and knows very well that killing the goose before it even lays an egg will not achieve that
3. Corruption is a big problem in SA and will take years to overcome but the principle from the top is 'we will not tolerate it', as opposed to Zuma's approach of 'where is my cut' is inherently better
4. Stability is the biggest requirement for any of us to succeed and Bushveld runs a substantial discount partly (in my view) as it is seen as operating in a perceived unstable political environment
5. The substantial taxation, royalty, dividend dribble, freeby equity etc colours the substantial cash generation possible at the moment (see 4)
6. I suspect the Mokopane licence has not been issued yet as the SA government want to apply the new charter to it (and the othere in the pipeline) - no surprise there.
7. I expect the charter to be gazetted by early August - the differences between the MC position and Government don't feel a million miles apart - there is not the outright hostility there was 6 months ago
There is no point re-iterating the potential and serious undervaluation in Bushveld. Plenty of posts detailing the numbers. So for me, much as some elements of the proposed charter irk considerably, before any of those elements realy bite we should be 3,4,5x the valuation we are.
Bring on a new stable charter .... bring on the H1 numbers ... bring on the mokopane licence.... bring on BE sales .
Bring it on bring it on
