if below the LTA threshold 1st 25% of any any withdrawal may be 25% (depending how you set up drawdown). The rest is normal taxable income (so depends on your tax rate).

Not sure where your 25% tax rate comes from but you may mean the tax to move from an uncrystalised fund to drawdown when the LTA threshold has breached.

The question I would look at is does the extra 3K kickback going into a sipp make sense when anything in an isa is fully tax free ... easy to assess on a spreadsheet but no one here can give financial advice

1. I never said I did not have a holding... at one time I had a very substantial one but have moved to BMN where I have seen a 7x increase as opposed to a 50% loss had a not seen where real value lies

You helpfully point to 7 mins in where leasing is introduced ... well done for spotting the only way forward.... but that does not answer where the vanadium for electrolyte that RED needs will come from does it ... I feel sure it was an omission on your part

3. Scotts 1.6% ... mmmh ... yes ... when given shares I guess you do own them .. just look at May's rns re-confirming granting him 10M of his 11.9M. I suppose I could trawl back but I don't recall Scott ever actually buying any (happy to be corrected)

4. China... you helpfully point to past data which was prior to the rebar changes 4 days ago ... China needs to import Vanadium on a vast scale for its steel now and for the several very large VFRB projects they are building). Whilst nothing could prevent china exporting vanadium, it does rather seem unlikely in anything other than very small quantities. Those quantities are very small .. trick question (as I know the answer) .. how much vanadium for a 1MW VFRB ... let alone 200MW to Germany

well .... in answer to any question it seems on electrolyte supply, Scotts response appears to be 'Vanadium is very abundant and it is no problem'. Of course we know this is factually correct in the first instance, but materially complete tosh on the other. The world has a significant Vanadium supply squeeze getting worse and whilst when I first invested in RED electrolyte would be around 30% of the cost of a VFRB system, it is closer to 90% now and leasing is the only model that makes any financial sense .. but that still needs vanadium... and he ain't got any....

As for the deals (German etc), they are completely dependent on Red bringing the finance ... I have no idea how that will occur as again, why would you finance something where there is no long term supply of electrolyte deal and they only have one place to get it ... Bushveld ... who are rolling out their own VFRB division. The Chinese will not export and it is politically impossible to get any from Russia. The other operations in Brazil supply the steel industry with no plans for electrolyte.

I am critical of scott as at every turn he seems to have been utterly risk averse and made poor decisions. What is the biggest issue in getting investors to believe the technology works... trial systems. When the 3 fund raises were done I have no idea why many systems were not put into places at zero cost and the data made available ... if it really works then the data will sell it .

I fear Red may not be around in a years time without a very significant sale and roll-out - and so far, I just don't see the tie up in the supply side to support that

well depending on how the leasing model is set up, a strong and growing income stream for several years. A good way I think about it is a pyramid (except without the scam bit).. just accelerated income streams as more comes on-line

Bushveld Minerals makes 100% of what it would by selling the vanadium into electrolyte at full market price ... BE sells the box (splitting the profit with UET) and then leases the electrolyte and ongoing operational maintenance and support (I would expect)

There may be the temptation to float off BE as a self contained entity but I would strongly object to that - we would end up well shafted looking at ATM

excellent stuff Paludina .. very noticeable how the trend is for bigger shipments. Just adding up I make 2,571 tones since January .. a very significant amount of total production. I thought about half went to the USA, but clearly its a lot more than that

exactly Kevkan.... read a very interesting article a few weeks ago by an investment chap srgui g that divestment 'because' was a flawed strategy perpetuated by poor investment mznagers as they were too stupid or too thick to see what was before them.. Selling he argued should be considered on fundamentals and remaininf growth potential... ride the wave bay... ride the wave
