I agree SOtRR ... it is an asset owned by the Shareholders. It has been developed and is perhaps not yet ready as a package to be sold on. But I want the value either distributed back as a dividend, or re-invested in developing the company.

I do not subscribe to this 'wrong message' stuff. The wrong message is to take shareholders money, develop an asset and then give it away.

While a general move away from coal is to be applauded, there are places where it is the economic viability that drives. And while China is still building coal fire power stations by the hundreds, frankly, one small one on an island in the Indian Ocean is just insignificant

But the point of course is that at a current exchange rate of 1.3 USD to GBP, and 4,200 MTV, and average sale price of around 73$/kg would be needed.... so no, just on sales turnover alone there is no chance of buying the company at its current MCAP !

@Vauch, the PE is based on the last audited published accounts and the current SP.

PE is a very poor indicator, very general and not really much use to anyone except is a general comparison way to say a stock is broadly cheaper or more expensive than the general sector it is in.

Just ignore it .,... the real story of course is how many companies are likely to make circa $40-50M Net profit this year ? ... last tables I looked was about 8 making more on AIM

I do like a bit of balance to endless lists of ra-ra. The potential is clearly there and my feeling is the planets are almost in line. As BBN pointed out the 'bidder' and the analysis of local content - hard to see how a Bushy consortium will not get awarded the Eskom contract, but until the ink is dry as they say....

SA does represent an investment risk (as evidenced by its ratings) and whilst my comments a few days ago may well have come over very negative, they are not and remain very bullish. I very much want Ramaphosa to succeed, not just for the benefit of my investment, but as SA so desperately needs competence at the top after a couple of decades of corrupt incompetents.

I wonder how much production over the year will be held back to feed the Electrolyte plant. If that 200MW battery needs to be in place and operational by the end of June next year and production starts towards the back end of the year...
