Ahhh Orange-- I see the confusion here. When I said come back in November it was linked to a list of activities that I posted and believed to be the modus operandi for Hex and this well, November was the reference point for any kind of initial test results as I couldn't see them achieving it earlier--folk at the time were talking about results in a matter of days which was just stupidity, but I guess they had no idea of what is involved in drilling and testing. I did not say that anyone should sell in September and come back in November as I'm not qualified in any way shape or form to make financial recommendations, I was merely saying that it would be November +/- before there were any results to get excited about. i.e.come back in November for the results. I have sometimes posted that I have sold out or have added to a stock but if I did post something like that you can rest assured that it is the truth. I did this with Zphr having been there for years and weathered the storm, it then it rose from about 3p to 5p and I sold at 5p. I told everyone I had sold and the reasons behind it. They then have their own choices to make. I informed this bb that I added some at 18p when we had that dip a week or so ago and someone was talking about getting their order in at 17.5. Well, I was quite happy with 18 and posted as such.

Ezhik, I think it's a little niaive to assume that in the last 20 years there hasn't been an advancement to tech in this side of the industry that would allow this kind of test to be done. - I agree, where did you get the idea that that is what I said? I said quite the opposite

Not to mention it does state that we will get initial gas composition if results are positive from the perforation.. and I don't think we will be getting these from Bo Sears noes. I agree, but we wont be getting it from running wireline logs either, but I guess that you refer to his nose--but before anyone trashes that concept there are people that have what is referred to as a calibrated nose.

Your "come back in November statement"... is still trash. It's November on Friday. How do you think they will isolate and perforate and flow test 4 separate intervals, measure the gas composition, measure pressure drop and build-up and analyse what they have found and make an assessment of the viability of each interval and the well as a whole and then announce to the market what the well is likely to produce--all by Friday? Quite remarkable if they manage it. Anyhow, I'll leave you all to the armchair experts and the collective narrative that keeps everyone cosy and warm.

Thanks to Troajan for posting exactly what I understand as the capability and potential outcomes of wireline logging. So my point about folk maybe expecting something they are not going to get remains relevant.

No I'm not saying any of that, how in your tiny mind have to come to thae thought process that I 'm suggesting that the wireline wont work. If someone would be so kind as to read my initial questions that sparked of this nonsense it would be good. i.e.what do folk believe they will find out from conducting a wireline test? What tools will they use and how will they test the gas. I am asking because it is clear that some folk think a wireline is going to give them a gas composition and then tell them what % of that composition is Hydrogen or Helium. If this is now possible using some kind of tool attached to a wireline, I would like to know.- simple as that. Wireline is normally a logging tool that helps to identify potential well formation problems and indicates the areas to penetrate the well for the best results and can provide pressure data. It will also ID any areas of the cement job that have not been filled with cement, these areas would have to be avoided when penetrating the formation. I was asking the questions in the event that I am unaware of what tech is currently available and that maybe there was some sort of gas chromatograph, spectrometry tool that could be dropped in, take a sample and analyse it without having to flow the gas to surface and sample at grade - just wondering - that's it. On a change of subject, does anyone see something a bit 'odd' in the photo shown on the new tweet on 'X' ? Answers on a postcard please. Oh yeah, and it's nearly November - In Sept I said come back in November, folk thought that to be a negative comment but it just aimed at providing a realistic expectation of timing based upon having done it all myself several times albeit nearly 20 years ago, and to try and temper the wild predictions of instant results being posted by certain people at that time. IHNC did you read my question? answer is too difficult right? What do you think they will test with a wireline? what tools will they use for the test and where from and what samples will they take. Just curious having spent 9 years drilling, casing, cementing and wirelining for one of the biggest private drilling contractors in the North sea, it was not possible to take a gas sample or determine what % of various gases were present in a well--not using traditional wireline testing.

What are they supposed to be sending to a laboratory exactly?

Does anyone actually know what they are supposed to be testing with this 'wireline' that is mentioned on various posts? and with what tools they are doing this 'testing'.

It's always good practice to keep an open mind. Those with deaf ears that ignore alternative views are fools. :) You dont have to agree with folk that have a different view to yourself- whatever that may be, but you should thank them for bringing potential negatives to the table.

When talking about % you need to know what it represents. You cannot say what it means until you have a volume and a composition. Until then it has no context. Hopefully there will be some clues tomorrow.

Open hole, good condition, good stable structure, better direct access, easier to stimulate, maybe higher density rock, less permeable, no need to block it further with a steel bracelet. Many wells produce on an open hole basis. No negative reasons here.

Forget it, it has nothing to do with testing the well at this stage. That horse has left the stable. Done, dusted, history.

They might use a wireline to perforate the well - maybe.

@ orange...and another indicator. 11lb mud weight at 8600ft would give a hydrostatic pressure of about 4900psi give or take. If gas was emerging through that then formation pressure would have to be at least 4900+ psi. I think. lol.

FYI If the gas emanating from the bottom of the well is able to kick through the column of mud in the tubing then IHNC said that there would be no issue bringing the gas to the surface and I would agree. BUT until the gas gets to the surface and the relative volumes of the different gases can be measured we have no idea what % of each gas is present. The gas will expand in volume as it rises to surface

Gawd. Its just mud lol. You mix the mud using different components, mostly barite. The base fluid can be water or oil. You need to know the pressure gradient of the well and how much over pressure you need to keep the downhole pressure under control, say 250psi overpressure. The mud is mixed and tested for density and viscosity and its weight per cuft. They have calculated that the keep the well under control, the weight needs to be 11lb/cu ft. It could have been say 10 or 10.5. or whatever they have calculated to be required. The gas penetration through the mud implies the well is under control from the mud and the hydrostatic pressure but there is sufficient gas pressure to bubble through it. i.e. at the depth and with the hydrostatic pressure sitting on top, there is a decent pressure. IHNC said---it means there is no issue getting the gas to surface lol.

110 stands of liner to run in the hole (2 x pipe sections per stand +/- 24m). 10mins (generous time) to make each connection = about 24hours (generous). Get the cement pump and pipework connected and the cement and additives mixed, another 6 hours max. Pump the concrete down the hole and up the annular space and then allow it to harden off maybe another 18hrs total for all that = 48 hours. = 2.0 days to run the casing and cement it. Then Run in with the drill pipe and drill out the cement plug, circulate all the c*^p out and hey testo, here we go. Not far off, completing the liner by now and prolly by end of the week to get going with the test. Fingers crossed initial indications for the Hydrogen/Helium from the basement early next. Just a guesstimate but we are getting close.

They may not even run wireline.:) What if they did LWD whilst extending the well? But, whatever has or has not yet been done--there is no way they would run this liner unless they were certain that there is a point to it. EWT? who said it is 1 month? Who said they were going to do an EWT? was it in a presentation? How would anyone know the duration required at this stage. ? EWT can be a few days to several months depending on the complexity of the well and what outcomes are required. I expect the well test to take about a week. Couple of days for each zone tested maybe. Anyhow--who cares providing the SP ends up 3 -4 times what it is just now.
