ill share my thoughts here, and as Ive said on twitter, positivity in this share is all about the product and clinical need and the situation with covid and nothing to do with Trevor Brown. If I posted what I really thought about the BOD selling and then placing I would probably be banned from this site.
The filtration efficiency of 98% means that the combined efficiency if 2 mask wearers would be almost 100%. Talking about 1/2500 escape. Kill rate is 90% but combined talking higher again. The virus transmission from person to person if both carrier and non carrier wear a mask would surely be almost zero.
If everyone wore one of these, new infections after 2 weeks surely would be almost zero. Assuming there would still be a small amount of surface transmission which would be almost zero with correct hand washing.
This product is needed more than ever and the nonsense of "masks don't work" , "lockdowns don't work" has to be taken on context to what would happen if there were no restrictions at all. For a virus which is transmitted through breath and cough it is complete bull**** to pretend that keeping people apart and wearing a mask doesn't work. It does but the transmissibility of the virus by those wearing a sock on their face, or a mask the wrong way round as ive seen means that the protection from this is limited. As was mentioned on sky news, the government needs to review its mask policies and make sure that they are fit for the purpose.
I still have high hopes for this as no doubt in my mind, covid will become and endemic illness and mask use will continue indefinitely in some form or another
