I worked in Alex (unfortunately not 'ice cold') in the late 80's and I seem to remember an American doing the rounds raising money for his business, water supply to drillers in the W Desert.
His proposal/solution - I'm not sure if it ever took off, from your comment perhaps not - was to mount oversize garden-hose spools on humongous sand-tyre equipped trucks and run a temporary pipeline out to the rig.
Maybe a few of your would-be truck drivers saw him as competition...and 'saw' him off ?

As a LTH myself (and granddaughter) I totally agree your assessment....and that complaints re s/p action caused by small traders come in the main from.....other small traders who are (or want to be) on the other side of the trade...
Even my children grew eventually out of the 'are we there yet ? ' phase.

Seriously, you want sellers as a reality check, because if the price carries on moving up - in volume - that's what establishes the sustainability/credibility of the rise.

Nothing specific to ZIOC , as far as I can see.
Nguesso is cosying up to Russia at a summit there...and Lukoil (supposedly Putin's vehicle) is supposedly in the frame for taking over the oil terminal at Djeno that Total has run for 50 years.
Meanwhile, San Marino has confiscated some £17m that the Nguesso clan had in its banks, monies had been used interalia to buy $100,000 worth of crocodile shoes....

My commiserations ! I picked up 'my bad' from my (US based) daughter and it seems to be a kind of 'half-apology'....

I think your point about Directors' expectations may be changing with time and circumstances (hence the differing views on what they would sell up for). None of them can want to be the richest person in the graveyard - A pretty sorry ambition, it seems to me.

That's not a problem I expect to face : I plan to spend my children's inheritance, the difficulty is getting the balance right ;->/;-<

You make a good point re Tag-Along rights and if we were talking about a transparent deal in a first-world jurisdiction, I'd be minded to give them some weight.
Without spelling it out, I can think of plenty of ways of circumventing those good intentions....and I'm sure you can too.

Be careful of what you wish for ! If China decided to play hard ball, they'd simply buy GLEN's 50% + 1 stake.....and then squeeze us out/make us a (paltry) offer we couldn't refuse (because there'd be no counter-bidder willing to take on a minority position against China Inc).
They could afford to offer GLEN a comparatively good price (because they only pay for its 50% +1 of the asset) and throw in some favourable terms for offtake of eventual production (maybe) and they'd be home free....

I'd be happier if Fortescue showed interest in Zanaga : 'Aussie rules' may not mean much, but they're better than none ;->

My bad : Higgins has dropped - from 11.6m on 10th July , to 11.4m reported today - whilst total shares have risen from 283m to 286m....so it was both factors combined that brought him from 4.1% to 3.99%, triggering the RNS.

I think you'll find that Higgin's holding has stayed the same, it dropped slightly in %age terms because of the recent increase in total shares (the retention incentive). The drop took it through a percentage - below 4%, to 3.99% - which had to be reported....
