Major difference appears to be that Nikola had to pony up fresh equity to get GM on board , whereas SYME is/was 98% Consideration Shares.

If GM/Nikola is anything to go by, AZ (or his lawyers) should check the fine print on any deals ...;->

Re 1AF2 holding :

Today's RNS says they hold 22.7%

The 'pledge' RNS 29 Jul says their holding dropped from 23.91% to 5.92%.

Neither number makes sense of today's RNS.

Maybe SYME/TAG forgot the 'pledge' RNS, being charitable, and (part of) today's purchase by the II - 2.87% - came from 1AF2. ? In which case, 1AF2 accounts for : (23.91-22.7) = 1.21 and someone else must account for 2.87-1.21 = 1.67%.

Whichever way you look at it, on the face of things, SYME's control of its own inventory of shares seems a little weak.

Hi all,

People keep on mentioning this guy, so I followed the link to his site.

I guess the 'juicy stuff' is behind the paywall - and I'm too tight to pay.

The readable bit includes this claim re SYME : "the sole London regulated advisor, its broker has quit..."

That claim/ allegation should surely be pretty straightforward to prove / disprove.

Does anyone know offhand ? If it happened, it ought to be in an RNS somewhere.

- good to see an II on board, shareholding below 3% means we won't know identity, unless AZ discloses;
TAG leveraging some of its 'currency' to move forward - good;
- puts a 0.7p 'floor' on the s/p, good for those who bought lower;
- 1AF2 holding quoted in today's RNS doesn 't from memory tally with %age in the 29/7 share pledge RNS;

Maybe more thoughts this avo.

You'll see I name-checked you : someone was asking about why the price moved around 0.70p...and you predicted it ! Any further thoughts ?
You were also going to ask an HMRC contact for his views on how the SYME system might help eliminate VAT fraud - did he/she have anything to say ?

The financial results for the 18 months ending Sept 30 2020 won't be out likely before Jan 2021 ie around 4 months away from today.
I'm sure there'll be plenty of newsflow between now and then , starting this week, it would appear.

And it came to pass... No idea, myself.

Re (2) Someone (can't remember who ) has posted detail that supports approx 15% being in free float.

It was a transfer of 1.63Billion shares from Ceresio, a 4.98% shareholder immediately post RTO, of its entire holding of Consideration Shares. It's not clear from the RNS what AZ paid for them : the price of 0.6756 p corresponds to the Placing Price (see p 14 of the Prospectus https://www.supplymecapital.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/2020_03_04_Prospectus-posted.pdf),
the Consideration Shares themselves were issued at a significant premium to NAV.

Good luck with that ! I'm on record as saying that :

- the concept is fantastic ...and that I hope - as a former banker, whose own (minor) attempts to innovate were invariably met by " We've ALWAYS done things this way' or "We've NEVER done things that way" - would really like SYME to succeed;

- I think that SYME has perhaps got ahead of itself and should be managing expectations in a more measured fashion : always better to underpromise and over -deliver, surely ?;

- as a 'for instance' , Storm Harbour has been up and running 5 months . Its 20 April RNS said [my CAPS]:

"SYME and StormHarbour are currently finalising the details of the securitisation programme which is anticipated to cover, within 12 months and through MULTI ISSUUANCES, the WHOLE of SYME's current portfolio of originated inventory contracts.

A further announcement will be made following completion of the placing of the INITIAL, including the amount raised and the sub-portfolio of inventories (and related sectors) that the Platform will COMMENCE monetising in favour of its clients."

No-one would be happier than me to see a meaningful update on Storm Harbour.
