Not sure what 2020 presentation you’ve seen, but I don’t recall a 2021 construction start. It’ll be another 2 years or so before any notion of building starts. Try £350-500m for the build costs.

2021 will all be about engineering, policy and finance. They have enough money for now and I dont see another raise coming in 2021. They will however need another wad of cash to finish all the engineering.
Given all the focus on green tech which will only increase in 2021, I see raising green finance a touch easier than at present. Add an improving COVID situation etc.

VLS have a computer model and a good idea. Long road ahead. Sentiment is the only driver.

I agree totally Norfolk. But let’s not get carried away directly comparing a company that has managed to build something and produce fuel, to a company that is merely aspiring to.

Gevo has a factory and is producing fuel. VLS has a computer generated image of a factory.

Hold on to your knickers tmrw. Nothing specific from VLS, but the green momentum will follow through to those stocks (such as VLS) who are still years away from significant revenue...

AltAlto is 5 to 6 years away at best.

Yes, many risks still remain however shows the sp effects of doing it right from the outset and keeping things at a realist scale to begin with.

If you infer facts as negativity, then that’s your prerogative.
Not currently, but will await positive signals then probably go all in. I’d like another Shapps bounce before the middle of 2021.

I used the section of the report to highlight the specific investor conditions associated with a lack of both demo testing and development experience. Also the track record of a regular changes in leadership. As you know, all these points I have raised before.

I agree that having existing investors helps, however my take on this section is about large scale investment, either at a company level or project level - neither of which VLS has yet been able to do for the UK or US.
Others seem to flourish in the capital raising market and you have to ask yourself why VLS has not been able to ‘on board’ that strategic investor, despite years of trying. I think it’s a combination of the above points.

Given the significant risks associated with FOAK commercial plants described above, investors have a number of key pre-requisites in terms of identifying suitable companies and projects to invest in.
Firstly, some investors stressed the importance of demonstration scale activity having already been carried out, to prove the concept, gather useable process data and show a clear path to commercial operations. A clear, well documented history of the performance of the integrated process (not just its constituent parts) was seen as being key to evidence this activity.
In terms of the team, a management team with a demonstrable track record in previous large scale development projects is seen as key in giving confidence to investors. Furthermore, a team with a stable leadership that has been committed to the company for an extended period of time is seen as being positive.

Thats my point. They have not done it. At any scale.

I love reading these articles. VLS are explaining the process in such a way to suggest they have done it and have years of experience.
It couldn’t be any further from reality.
