President Samia is pushing trade deals etc with electrification being a priority, we need to know the outcome of the meetings with EDL.
My holding here is enough for the time being, my efforts are with FDBK which I have followed for a number of years, a stake build there will now be well timed and rewarded, their progress in the NHS here and India alone will be serious money that's not being missed by their investors.

Just re-read the31/1/18, the expected sales and production and optimism shown then, although misplaced, exceeded the current expectations.
The 3600tonnes pm, is still reliant in a single excavator not breaking down there's no mention of plans to replace the excavator to continue production??
Referring back to the 31/1/18 update, UPENDO, was supposed to be mining Namwele in March 18 after clearing the overburden, the only other mention of UPENDO was the court case for lack of payment by EDL, as far as I'm aware there's been no mention again.
EDL'S shoestring budget and inability to pay their way in the past, would not encourage people to hire them heavy plant for the mining operations.
In the latest update AM didn't exactly display massive confidence in hitting the 3600 tonne, which depended on a single excavator not breaking down.
If ILTL are still interested we need them onsite.

ILTL have the right to cancel the agreement at any time, as they have not it would suggest that they are still interested.
EDL would appear to be putting an increased effort into clearing the overburden to make more coal available.
perhaps ILTL need to hit the ground running if they have the customers that they first claimed to have?

Gwynwin, ILTL completed their DD, and were quite happy to take over EDL site with almost no production, which begs the question why are they insisting on production of 3000 tonnes? Their enthusiasm to take over the site appears to have waned.

Reliability is a key requirement for any contract, I hope steps are being taken to cover breakdowns.

Sinoma are going ahead with a $1B cement factory in Tanga this includes a 1200 mgw coal fired power station.

The power plant has and still is EDL's main target, the construction of which would have been well underway if it hadn't been stopped by Magafuli.
Who will now construct, finance and complete this project with the ability to have it up and running on time remains to be seen, with luck we may get some info from the recent talks with the TZ gov.
The current resource and expanded area make EDL the obvious choice for the coal supply not only to the Rukwa project but to other CFPPs.
In the next 2 weeks we should have a update on production and the 3600 tonnes of washed coal for November.

It would seem TZ is suffering from a wide spread drought.
Threatening industrial heavy users of water, also the hydro electric production.
Samia has plans for another 3 hydro schemes to control the water supply, she has made a trade agreement with Egypt but not disclosed any details.
Since taking over from Magufuli, president Samia has been working hard to secure trade agreements internationally, electrification is a priority. I wonder how the talks are going on the Rukwa coal to power project??
Just over 2 weeks for the presumed update, lets see what they come up with!!

Off elsewhere so just a quickie, 3, 600 tonnes for November, that will take some doing, wash plant capacity, 12500 tonnes per month, something will have to change to cope with that????

EDL's future ref. AM, has never been brighter!
We have gone from the crazy production forecasts by RS, in 17/18 to actually producing increasing volumes of coal.
EDL has coped with mining the wrong area,a crazy in charge of TZ,a global pandemic, almost zero income and yet they were able to attract serious investors on board.
The RUKWA CFPP , needs to be up and running in the next 3/4 yrs. EDL are in negotiations re coal supply.
I have no doubt RUKWA coal will be supplying other CFPGs plus other industries plus international customers.
It will take substantial investment for expansion and production something that is already being planned for the future, we shall see where EDL as a company figure in that future. RUKWA coalfields will play an important part in the economic future of TZ.
It has been a long slog of mishaps but we are at last able to see where we are going, GL to all.

T72/Bullish, you are both correct, it was plain from the August update what the results would be.
People see only what they want to see.
I have no doubt that the next update will catch a few with their pants down.
Take a look at the investors that have been attracted to EDL, and name those that have nothing better to do than throw their cash down the drain.
There's plenty in that RNS to consider.
Every cloud etc.

No surprises there, the August update was quite clear that production/sales had been poor up to that point, any substantial sales would be commencing this month, so the next update is essential.
They've been shy to say the least regarding increased production, typical EDL.

Has been fighting TZ's case at the UN general assembly.
It's the first time since 2015 that TZ has been represented.
Credit to Samia, she has been working hard to convince the international states that TZ is a safe place to do business.
We shall see if there's any evidence of that this week.
The production target for EDL this month was 2kts pm.
With progress to a full order book.

They have spoken in the past about supplying small local CFPP projects, the new cement factory with its independent CFPP, which seems to fit in with inquiries from some years ago plus RUKWA, none of which have resulted in anything substantial for EDL at this moment in time.
Will we have some answers this week?????.

I'm not expecting anything until the week beginning,27/9. Of course news could pop up next week but EDL like to take things to the wire.
There's little point in guessing, whinging and whining as it serves no purpose.
The talks with the TZ gov. contracts, and production updates may be released anytime in the next two weeks
but knowing EDL I shan't hold my breath, the only thing we can guarantee is that they will be released that will be the time to complain or congratulate or the I told you so brigade to jump in.
