Ian12, it's not as bad as EDL, a share I have been in for over 10yr. I have followed FDBK for about the same length of time, dipping my toe in about 2 months ago and adding since. The SP 10yrs ago was 1-1.5p, I'm adding now because of what would seem to be (AIMs favourite saying) huge potential the let down of many an investor, I think this time it could be correct, as always time will tell.

No surprise there!
As GW said June is the most likely date, it will take Nextgen at least that long to establish customer supply lines but who knows what surprises could turn up.

I can't see Nextgen providing updates on production so no surprise if the next update comes with the results, re income and forecast income. Having said that they just might break the silence and reveal their next venture.
The current state of trading doesn't give any hint of news anytime soon.

Browns99, it would seem you were spot on re the long rains, heavy rain and thunder forecast for the coming weeks.
How that affects Nextgen production remains to be seen, assuming that they are actually digging coal up.

I assume that's a wind up!
If not, EDL have a pile of coal but up to this point have been unable to extract it and been totally reliable on fund raising for income, NEXTGEN may be about to change that.
A soaring coal price and high demand, paying EDL $10 dollars per tonne, whilst they look elsewhere to spend whatever cash they have left.

Without any update we can only guess that coal production is going ahead.
The takeover by Nextgen looks like a real smart move for them, a rising coal price high demand and paying EDL not a %age but $10 per tonne.

and we are into March.
Will we get that update?
Will Nextgen fulfil the outstanding 3600 tonnes, will there be an increase above that?
There's no problem with the rains for the next couple of weeks as they are still fairly light, March could be heavier.
January was spent preparing the ground for Nextgen's takeover so from the first of Feb. they should have hit the ground running.
Whatever happens now there should be no reason for the miserable production of the past.

BB agreed. Once we see the increase in production, which is the purpose of the handover then the buyers will return, hopefully after a months production, which lets be honest , couldn't be much worse than the previous attempts!
Profit on every tonne has to be a catalyst for the market.

And be still unable to produce more than a few hundred tonnes, abysmal performance!
All eyes will be firmly fixed on Nextgens performance.
End of month production figures plus further contracts and the ability to fill them it's any ones guess where this SP will go.
Interesting the lack of of info on the CPP talks.

BB agreed re selling stock and speculation, good news/bad news and notifiable news can be very different.
No increase in production I would now consider bad news but that could be included in any update.
Again I refer to 2018 series of news releases and the period of silence.
Having said that I will not be parting with any stock but also not adding at this moment in time, GL

Well, it is now 2 months since the last update and not a scrap of evidence to support that statement, even the trading volume does not hint at any imminent news.
Increased production, increased sales book, increased enquiries ( unsolicited) where's the evidence?

In October discussions to continue re the CPP, EDL firmly believe that the Rukwa coal is the answer to Tanzania's energy problems.
December the shovel handle was broken for 15 days in November so fingers crossed we should be able to fulfil the current orders and satisfy the customers new and potential that we can increase production conditional on the shovel handle not breaking again.
There's been no further comment on the CPP talks, no contracts to be seen. Diggerman flying around saying that the CPP is and always has been a non starter in complete contradiction of AM's statement, is there any wonder that the SP is where it is.
GW, apols missed your post, I was just blathering, I have heard no rumours and judging by the trades and ongoing silence neither has anybody else with an interest in EDL. As a long term holder silence has always been ominous, hopefully this time they will buck the trend.

Will have an impact on the SP, whatever it is!

It will be a belter ,
A fund raise.
History would suggest the latter due to the silence,
Ever the optimist, I am going along with BB's option of this being a good year for EDL holders.

BB, I have no intention of arguing over that but I have been in this share for over ten years and they have successfully been able to hold back info. I don't know how long that you have been invested here but go back to 2018 series of news releases when they forecast production in excess of 10k tonnes and choosing which customers they were prepared to do business with and the income that EDL expected from 1k tonnes. Then look at where we are now.

Is beginning to look like an echo of 17/18, I have to agree with SoS, if the production was up to scratch the figures would have been published.
Diggermans comments as always pointing to EDL as a lost cause, the worrying part of that is TM therefore EDL
are aware of Diggermans posts and have not over the years.accused him of being mistaken.
A simple update would stop the guessing.

BB, agreed re RAB. Coal is EDL's only source of income at this moment in time on their website, albeit years out of date.
EDL have stated that discussions re the CPP are ongoing and nothing has been stated to the contrary.
Samia is intelligent and hard working and unlike Magafuli is well aware of international relations and the value of foreign investment a polar opposite to the previous president! If she did not have an interest in the CPP I'm sure we would have known by now. How EDL copes with that is another matter , past performance etc.
Like you I feel that there's more to come but without any update that is pure speculation.

The problem with EDL is their total disregard for their shareholders and that has been the practice since the Rollason days.
Up to this point in time long periods of silence have never been followed by share uplifting news and they have yet to meet any of the predicted production targets, bearing in mind that they have stated they need to produce 6000 tonnes to break even.
As for myself I've continued to add over the last few years to keep my average reachable.
I still believe this will come good but we need those updates to be positive, with a definite road forward.

Has and still is reshaping her government to remove Magufuli's influence. How that will affect her energy policies and as a consequence EDL remains to be seen.
We are in the heavier part of the wet season so let's hope the pre season preparations prove effective.
I would hope (perhaps unrealistically) that the next update has not only production figures but details of the progress with ILTL (or lack of it) and the CPP.
There has been no further mention of the international interest in EDL's coal or the 6000 TPM break even figure which by current levels of production seems to be.evermore difficult to reach.
The one positive is the ongoing interest and support of the current investors .
