So yeh, when Reeves is talking to Japanese ministers about critical minerals supply chains, she’s going to be talking about Mkango/Hypromag, Ionic and LCM. LCM I would imagine would be less relevant as the Japanese already have this capability, after building it up post the China RE export ban back in 2011.

Regarding Japan, I remembered this from 2024:

Mkango Resources (via its subsidiary HyProMag), Less Common Metals (LCM), and Ionic Technologies (a subsidiary of Ionic Rare Earths) participated in a UK government-backed delegation to the British Embassy in Japan in 2024 to foster partnerships in rare earth magnet recycling and supply chains.

Key Details of the Delegation/Meeting:

Focus: Strengthening UK-Japan collaboration on critical minerals, particularly for electric vehicles and clean energy, with a focus on recycling end-of-life (EoL) magnets using HPMS technology.

Participants: Along with HyProMag (Mkango), Ionic Technologies, and LCM, the delegation included other firms aiming to expand in the Japanese market.

Context: The meeting aligns with the Minerals Security Partnership, which Japan is a member of, and follows HyProMag's partnership with Japanese recycler Envipro.

On silver, I’d still be happy at $60-70, I just think that the supply squeeze and the Eastern buying will mean we’re more like $80+ in the long run. It feels like sub-$50 days are over though, which means there’s plenty of money to be made. I was buying the miners at $30-40 silver and a bit of physical at $35, so I’m relatively comfortable for now.

SIT, firstly we don’t know if the EXIM board is meeting to make a final decision on Hypromag USA project or another project.

Secondly, the company, even if they knew the meeting was about their project, would not announce to the market that an EXIM board meeting was happening, they would instead wait until a decision had been made and communicated to them before making any announcement to the market.

If they did make a pre-emptive announcement, and then the meeting either didn’t go ahead or the approval wasn’t forthcoming then they would just look stupid and it would have a negative effect on the share price.

Thanks velcro, always nice to chat these things over, particularly with someone who gets it. I sound like a d*ck for saying it, but if my portfolio wasn't up nearly 10x in the last 18 months then I would probably not be so calm right now. With great reward, comes great risk... Mkango will be the making of my potential early retirement either way, not the 15% of my portfolio in silver miners, and whatever happens with FED chairs, currency debasement and silver prices, I have complete confidence that Mkango will deliver for me and all of us.

While this feels like history right now, imo it will end up being just a footnote in the biggest precious metals bull market we have ever seen. I have been taking advantage of the correction, both in terms of Britts, gold and silver shares. Riding the bull isn't supposed to be easy, weak hands won't cut it. At $120 the solar manufacturers would be making no profit, though it would take them quite a long time to re-tool to copper, which has lower performance to boot. But yes, my ideal was for it to trade between $80-100 and let the miners catch up through higher earnings. Q3 earnings were at $55-60 average prices, and they have been stellar so far.

In my eyes, the precious metals bull market needed to cool off in order for it to be prolonged. Hopefully today's action has helped to achieve that. I would be very happy for silver to trade sideways for a few months from here and leave all the exponential rises to Mkango and neodymium!

It could be but I think less likely. Most of my US and Canadian goldies are down around 10% and we've already done nearly 6% today. Gold recovering a bit at the moment, so depends on how the next few hours go.

The bullion banks had lost control of the gold and silver markets and today they reasserted that control, at least on the paper front. It's not a coincidence that this happened on the last trading day of the month, before positions had to be marked to market.

The correction was due and is necessary to prolong the wider bull market, but the violence of it, particularly on silver, is pretty crazy. Some huge short positions in the 70's that were very underwater, including Toronto Dominion Bank's massive one at $78 (according to Andrew Maguire). Unsurprisingly silver has been crashed down to around that level.

Anyway, while uncomfortable watching, this is good in the long run. We don't want this bull market ending anytime in the next couple of years and today's action will add to its longevity.

Watching the live silver spot price chart is certainly entertaining / painful, moving over $1 per second. Never seen anything like it. Feels a bit like history.

I did also slice some profits from them into Mkango and Cotec over the last few weeks, which makes me feel a little better!

Ha, well I do still own many silver miners, but I am happy that my gains here today more than outweigh the losses there, so the overall portfolio isn't a complete trainwreck. Remaining calm though, most of them are priced at $40-50 silver, and despite the 26% (and counting) drop to $86, that's still a lot of catching up to do. Today is month end and the banks are firing everything they can at Comex to bring down the price before mark to market. I'm confident in a recovery over the next weeks and months. Most positions still up well over 100%, and hoping it stays that way!

It could be worse, silver is down 24%! It is no coincidence that this is being done at month end, they are throwing everything they can at it because they are in so deep. Watch Andrew Maguire's latest segment on the Kinesis Money channel, he explains it well. Though it was recorded on Wednesday.

I got another batch of Britannia's at $4,890 equivalent, before the premium. Banks needing to mark to market very under the water short positions may be one of the reasons they are so keen to slam this. Imo, we needed a correction to prolong this bull market for a few years, going up in a parabolic fashion wasn't sustainable. Stay calm and stick to the thesis.

There's a nice delayed reported buy there of £67k.

No UT action so far, hopefully we just close at mid price, which would still be a good week.
