230k just bought at 54p. What is going on here!?

Looks like my top up was a little soon. This is starting to smell pretty fishy...

You say that, but we had exactly the opposite of this happen yesterday late morning i.e. 54.5p to 59.5p on no news.

Small top up for me at 54.75p.

60k of buying at 56p and yet they drop it further, then another 60k of buying at 55p with no tick up in bid. Will have to wait for the delayed reported trades after close but this is a bit ridiculous. Would have to be someone offloading half a million plus to justify that price action.

Down to 54.5p, this is a bit of an inverse mirror image of what happened yesterday morning. Don't be fooled, lots of buying down here.

They've dropped the @rse out of her, down 3p in a matter of 5 minutes, and down from 60p to 55.5p in total over the last hour and a half. Nothing reported so far to justify the drop, but there is someone moving in in volume to buy at 56p.

Tbf, they got to £1.81 at their October high and are now trading at £1.16, whereas we are trading at 58.5p, compared to our October high of 71.5p, so we have done better than they have over the intervening period. Same goes for when you compare us to USAR.

Yeh, I think their $160m strategic equity investment from the US is a big part of that. As we talked about before, we need a greater pool of investors / capital to take this substantially higher.

I don't think we have always dropped at US open, in fact we just had a few weeks where the opposite happened, which were preceded by about 3-4 weeks where we did seem to drop around that time. It's only been the last few days that this has happened again, but that could be down to some strong buying in the morning (as we had yesterday and today) which is not then backed up by further buying in the afternoon, which results in the momentum fizzling out and some selling. This morning's momentum had definitely fizzled out quite a while before US open, so it may just be coincidental today.

Frustrating that we aren't following through at the moment I know, but we'll get there.

On point 4 - initial MRE for West Dome Deeps deposit. From the results call and other things I've read am I right in expecting this to only cover a small portion of the potential eventual resource? I think it is a very positive milestone but also keen not to have expectations that are too high for this initial MRE, with so much further drilling to come in future.

Well they've got a good 5-10% of shares in diamond hands on this chat board (perhaps more if you include Myles), so good luck scaring any of us with that kind of amateurish carp.

I'd also add for last year's extension vote there were 6,439,749 in favour of extension vs 4,165 against. So again, I don't think there is anything to worry about here...

They will just vote to extend, like they did last year. This is no big deal. Where do you get the idea that there is insufficient time to extend by 11th March? They only need to provide shareholders with 5 days notice for the EGM to extend the deadline. For the January 2023 extension they filed a press release on 30th January and held the EGM on 7th February. Next time, perhaps do a bit more research before writing a panicked post.

Some nice buying just turned up out of nowhere. A bit like yesterday.

This is true shareminator, though the Chinese have artificially suppressed the RE prices for years anyway. The biggest impact of this is getting banks comfortable with pricing risk by hedging some or all of the mine production. It may be that with government financing support we don’t need this.

Reuters article that CME is considering a futures market for NdPr. Could be big news for the world of rare earths.

LONDON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - CME Group (CME.O), opens new tab is working on a plan to launch the world's first futures contract in rare earths, three sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters, in a move that would allow governments, companies and banks to hedge exposure to a sector controlled by China.

Rival Intercontinental Exchange (ICE.N), opens new tab is also looking at rare earth futures, but is not as advanced in its planning as the CME, two of the sources said.
