RE: Share price value6 Jan 2023 10:34
I am a novice in Nanoco. As I posted last week I took a punt and it has paid me back enough to fund half my flying lessons.
But the question for me is should I sell out? To play devil's advocate, might 60p not be about fair value?
The last reported figures show that Nano has a turnover that is negligible and is loss making. However the pre settlement MCap was around £140m. Much of that was because expectation of a settlement had, to an extend, already been priced in. At least 50% looking at recent SP activity. So let's say the "true" value was about £70m, all of which was potential.
Let's also say that the Samsung settlement will be £400m all in. Nanoco will lose a third of that to legal backers and more in fees etc. So that £400m becomes £250m. Let's add back in the £75m original MCap and that gives £325m MCap as a MCap going forwards. That equates to a SP of around a pound when the settlement figure is known and presuming as high as £400m. A 30-40% discount on that figure, given the uncertainty, doesn't seem outlandish.
So I see 60-70p as fair value at present. Although I will probably take the risk and hold out for £1. Then maybe ongoing organic growth.
Very happy to be challenged on the above, but please only with facts and figures, not unfounded sentiment.
Congrats to all the LTHs here who have had their patience rewarded today. it was comment on this board in part that persuaded me to invest.
