The challenge, which Coopers and Haleon well know, is how to establish the brand. It’s a marketing issue. At the moment it is clear that when the marketing stops, the sales fall back dramatically. Amazon uk goes from 5-7k + per month to 1 at the moment. So Coopers are not making any money. The award winning campaign was in the £1m plus category for 1 campaign. Do the maths.
What they expect is that half the new people that try it each campaign will become repeat customers. That is not happening or Amazon would drop back to 2-3k per month at least when ads are off.
By the way, the big investors will have media/ad spend trackers (or at least access to them) so they will have a good view on what Coopers have ploughed in so far. We don’t see that.
This will take a lot of media investment from our two main OTC customers.
Aileen. There is absolutely zero chance of a drilling program in 2024 unless there is a deal with a major that is well advance, and it would have to be AA. You don’t pull in field geologists and all the drilling kit needed with a click of the fingers. Look at the Amaroq ads for geologists, drillers, cooks etc - and they already have a big physical presence in a more accessible and weather friendly part of southern Greenland.
Most likely best outcome? Renegotiated JV with someone who can actually deliver fieldwork in 2025.
..and bought back for a fraction of that?
Ignoring the legality, would Rod, as the major shareholder accept an offer of (say) 2p per share for the company?
Of course he would.
Nice work.
Please could someone clarify if the share dealing is acceptable within AIM rules?
It is possible that Rod submitted the TR1 but the company did not tell us. He would have long known that. If that is the case, that seems pretty serious, especially as the Sandgrove & M&G changes seem to have been reported.
Ashton, are you able to apply your usual rigor and precision?
Interesting to observe those who liked the blowout video that Rod commented on - The old Disko footage.
Our friend from Amaroq was on there. So too was the Greenland lead from K.

He was effusive about Jay after 2022 fieldwork. And hoping that some of the recent K fundraise would go to his Nickel projects. But most recently does not even mention Greenland while name checking Alaska, Australia and Canada.
Draw your own conclusions. He didn’t just forget Greenland. He spent the whole of summer 2022 there!!
Funnily enough, I don’t think K can afford this at the moment unless it is in their top 2 or 3. They claim to have spent $100m on exploration and research last year, and will spend $150m purchasing all of the copper project (not sure on timescales). They are burning cash like no tomorrow. They will need to raise more soon. I think they have to be more prudent and do more JV s with the big miners. I think BHP were involved in their initial funding. We keep talking about them as if they have very deep pockets.. they have very finite resources that they are chewing through quickly.
Assuming the JAY are not communicating because K have not said yes or no, then it really tells you all you need to know about the relationship. K are essentially just d***ing JAY around for no good reason other than they can. Jay have gone from mining explorer of the year in Greenland a few years back to persona non grata courtesy of Dundas, false promises and untrustworthy employees. A third party is the only possible rabbit out of hat scenario for 2024.
Chirpy, I would expect them to have announced drilling if it was going to happen! We have no field resource now, Kobold are recruiting but virtually all for Zambia, so unless Anglo are going to helicopter in a crack squad at short notice for us.. it isn’t happening.
So we will burn through the £1m sitting on our hands. Then what? If they know that K are not drilling that absolutely must be announced. So we assume that Zk are just saying nothing?
New energy sounds a bit nebulous, we need Kobold to comit to drilling which seems increasingly less likely, especially when you see job ads from those that are serious and have the resources (assuming that all those drilling contracts are for Amaroq).
