Clearly if Omicron is the last covid that causes lockdowns/restrictions then the travel sectior will come roaring back, not least because of MASSIVE PENT UP DEMAND.
Considering this share in years past has seem £50 a share I think £30 a share in say a year is not too optimistic.

for 15 minutes at the tills. They have 8 bays but only 5 were manned. A bit annoying but suffice to say they were extremely busy. Bought a lamp shade. I noticed M&S were very busy in their Homewear part yesterday.

Home & kithen part busy.
Food hall as busy as usual. Always seems to be.
About half people in the store still wearing masks.
Summary I'd say ticking over nicely.

Looking on the bright side.
1. The Omicron variant is far less severe that the Delta one.
2. The Omicron variant has "done everyone a favour" by becoming the dominant strain, surpressing Delta and presumably other variants.
3. It is fading away in South Africa and the UK. UK daily cases "by date reported" on the UK Government site hit 218,724 on 4/1/2022. On 29/1/22 they were 72,727.
4. Worldwide the Omicron variant is expected, and as far as we know is, following the same pattern as was for South Africa and the UK. Omicron may be raging in places like the USA NOW but give just a few more weeks the amount of new cases should have peaked, if it has not done so already.
I think we are nearly out of the woods on this one, finally.

The sp has bounced off £1.47 maybe for the last time IMHO.
Once the sp starts to move North IMHO it will quickly pick up pace.
I would not be surprised is we top £2.00 within 4 weeks.
I'm in @ £1.49, one tranche. Will buy more is the sp picks up as I have said.

I agree. The trigger will be the RNS to say the Tolmount gas field is on line I think. This is the gas field in the North sea which was supposed to start up last JULY! Going forward although Harbour hedge a lot (which makes things safer, obviously) considering Brent crude is $91 I presume they are getting well North of $60 for, say oil in 2023, 2024 for example.

Seems incredible they did not seem to know about this problem. Still, I'm still gobsmacked Trump was elected in the USA (thank the Lord he lost the next one) and 25% of Americans have not even had one jab so live and learn!!

Gas currently 222p per therm, Brent crude $91.
If Putin has really gone mad and invades Ukraine then it's pretty obvious the gas price will double/triple/quadruple? ans the oil price will sail past $100 a barrel. The price of oil could pass $120 a barrel IMHO.
It seesm to me SQZ are making a load now and if Putin invades Ukraine will make silly money.
Sp could go up 50% IMHO.

My reasoning being Omicron is about one tenth as dangerous as the Delta variant and it appears to be fading away in South Africa and the UK........... presumably in the USA and other Coutries it will do the same in the next 4 to 8 weeks. Omicron spreads fast and Omicron fades fast it seems. Some experts think it may be the last covid variant that causes big problems. I think everyone on Earth hopes that turns out to be right. If it is then travel will return to normal........ in fact it will "take off" (sorry for the pun) as there is massive pent up demand don't forget.

which is surprising. The 2nd quarter trading update on 12th January was upbeat and good, but amazingly the sp slipped slowly down but has recovered a fair bit now.
Hope this is another SQZ, who's update on 20th Jan seemed great only for them to slip down. But last week (Was it Wednesday?) SQZ suddenly rocketed up 10% in the one day. Maybe the bigger players took more time to digest the update. I'm hoping Dunelm will do the same. I see no reason why not. With no masks needed in shops now here in the uk one would have thought all high street shops will be getting a boost from more customers!

As someone else posted travel is opening up now. The results no doubt (I am no expert on results) reflect the massive problems covid in the forms of Delta and then Omicron have caused. Clearly the Omicron variant, although one tenth less likely to kill and therefore far milder unfortunately has managed to find it's way on board cruise ships. So even with negtive test to board, nearly all crew double jabbed and nealy all passengers double jabbed it has managed to get through. But hang on a minute. From what I have read these cases either had NO SYPTOMS or mild. So take a step back and just think flu outbreaks on cruise ships were/are taken as "one of those unlucky things" that may happen. If we can forget the panic the word COVID can strike in to people and look at the facts it seeems to me Cruise ships will be carrying on with the same conditions to get on board as they are now as it seems as safe as, for example, a flu outbreak.
My quits level is £15.10 a share. I'm very confident that level will be passed in the next three weeks or so mainy due to (I hope) Omicron fading away in the USA. It certainly should do based on UK and South Africa experience.
I'm not buying more myself but it looks like a bargain basement price now all things considered.

oil Companies! My word I must be daft. Why in the World would a high oil price benefit Companies that sell oil based on that high price? I mean just because they get more money does not mean they benefit at all.
