Both have rocketed up of late, now those recent investors are bailing out with their profits.
However Omicron is fading fast and the travel industry is taking off so this is a good opertunity to BUY.

I do not want an invasion to happen. I still hold many stocks and the whole market would go down by well over 6% if they invade.

The only thing my post concludes is that if Russia invades Ukraine then any investments in Russia are in danger. Any 12 year old could work that one out I would have thought? Hardly irrational. Simply totally obvious to anyone with a brain.

Assuming the $1 billion compensation money arrives from the Indian Government I see the sp peaking at around £2.70. The massively high oil price makes this even more likely.

Anyone who says Shell, BP. or any other invesrments in Russia or Ukraine are safe are simply lying, obviously. Anyone who can't understand that is a true fool if you ask me.

Russia (heaven forbid) invade Ukraine the effects on air travel would be minimal. Clearly flights to and from Ukraine would be stopped and maybe some surrounding countries would need to divert planes so they don't go anywhere near the border with Ukraine. IAG is of course World wide and so compared to covid it would be amost nothing.

I think you have made a very good decision. I got out a few weeks back and, yes I would have made more money if I had held up until now. However if Russia had invaded shortly after I sold I would have been the person who got it completely right.
You can sit back and watch, in the knowledge that your money is safe. You may also get a very good opertunity to get back in at a much lower level if the worst happens. Just be careful on that one!

Some people just won't listen. Like some of the people who decided they did not need a vaccination, caught covid, and are now dead. Good example of people who just won't listen. Anyway I really hope Putin does not invade Ukraine as the whole stock market IMHO willl dive about.............. I guess......... 8%. And that will be all shares including oil and gas. If you don't know why then keep your money in the bank and don't trade shares.

Some investors may not be aware both BP. and Shell have huge investments in Russia. Thses investments are obviously in danger. If you think they are not then you need a re-think. If Russia invades Ukraine at minimum all hell will break loose in a financial way. Sanctions on Russia will be massive and what will Mr Putin do in response?? Some knitting perhaps? Or maybe he's nationalise BP, Shell and other western assets?? Get real Bumble. This is very serious and you seem to think it's nothing!

Trouble is he's pushed it too far now. The Russian economy will already pay a msssive price for Putin threatening Ukraine even if they don't invade. Who's going to want to invest in Russia? Actually I'll rephrase that. What Western Companies are going to want to invest in Russia? I should think billions are heading out of Russia on a daily basis at the moment. It's now not a safe place to invest is it (assuming it ever was). The "Government" if you can call it that in Russia is by it's actions aggresive and unpredictable. How do you know that investing $100 million in Russia won't get nationalised (taken) by the state? None of my money is going anywhere near Russia now or in the future with Mr Putin in charge.
