These Director buys should install confidence in the Company for the future. We will see but it seems likely to me the sp will move further North over the coming days in view of this.

Scotty1238. Appreciate your post but I decided to go heavily on travel after Covid. Biggest fear was Covid returning, which of course it has not........ but I did not see inflation becoming such an issue at the time. I honestly think the airlines are doing fine, at least at the moment but the market I presume is pricing in economic problems next year. I'm sticking with IAG for sure, also JET2 and WIZZ. I hold one tranche of EZJ......... maybe IAG will bid for them. I knew I took a bigger risk with Petrofac. Down quite a bit and their trading update is tomorrow. My reasoning was the market they are in is flush with money as the West invests in oil, gas wind and anything else to wean us off Russian energy supply as much as possible. Carnival's (CCL) have a business update Wednesday. I'm hoping the Sea Cruise industry is getting back on it's feet finally. This recovery has lagged behind the Airlines in my opinion by several months but I think the outcome will be the same as in they will recover, all be it more slowly. All IMHO.

Ah! How embarrasing. My appologies to all. Willie Walsh is indeed speaking about the whole Airline indistry as he is the Director General of the International Air Transport association and no longer works for IAG! In a way it is even better as he is saying he generally expects the whole Airline indistry to return to profit next year.
Sp up 1.1% now. That Talking Business interview with IAG's19 Dec 2022 11:18
Willie Walsh was quite informative about the whole airline industry. Seems to say demand has NOT dropped off and Airlines are/will benefit from the reduced cost of aviation fuel. You only have to look at the massive drop in the price of crude oil to see the basis for that! I have read that about 17% of the cost to run an airline is fuel! All IMHO.

Mr Walsh also said the following during the interview (see link to interview below):- 1. "Forecasting small profit at Global level" (for IAG). 2. In reply to being asked how IAG is forcasting a profit after all the economic woes we have, Willie says:- "Energy costs have been significantly elevated in 2022, particularly the price of jet fuel, so we actually expect our fuel prices to come down slightly next year. The headwind of fuel and energy, that really hit us in 2022, now it may have an impact on consumer demand but we are not seeing evidence of that at the moment.". - ANOTHER AIRLINE SAYING DEMAND HAS NOT DROPPED OFF. Why........ likely pent up demand after Covid nigh on 2 year closedown! 2. Staffing problems. He says "Generally the problems have been overcome". "These issues are largely behnd us.".
