There are currently no NHS guidelines that mandate CYP2C19 pharmacogenomic testing prior to commencing clopidogrel therapy for cardiovascular disease.

A real possibility? Angle up to now have made the unique Parsortix machine available to buy. But will it be taken off the market? The machine enables the capture of circulating tumour cells (CTC's), that are 99% alive and intact, perfect for testing and analysis. Now Angle have been contracted by both Eisai and Astrazeneca to develop specific assays to analyse CTC's. As per the RNS's Angle will own the CTC's and so will be able to offer their use to other Companies to do the same analysis during their cancer drug trials in the future. So Angle may need more Parsortix machines. Possibly hundreds more for their own use. This begs the question will it be in Angle's interests to sell the machine to other Companies? Could they not take the machine off the market, or put the cost of the machine up significantly as it could be in direct competition with them if a Pharma Co. develops its own assays?
