Slacker246.
I bet you are really happy the NHS lady has clarified the situation. I recall you kept posting the lab option is recommended by NICE. However the NICE document was unclear. Most people who have some common sense were pointing out using a lab is all very well but it takes too long and needs a blood sample too! Gendrive's machine can analyse a cheek swab sample (no blood sample needed) in about an hour and it's cheaper too. Have a nice day:-
***SAYS IT ALL. The Genedrive machine IS RECOMMENDED FOR point-of-care (POC) testing when pharmacogenomic results are required rapidly. END OF.***

"Utilise point-of-care (POC) testing when pharmacogenomic results are required rapidly and testing is reactive - e.g. for warfarin, ***clopidogrel*** or aminoglycosides.".
****clopidogrel POC testing IS the GENEDRIVE machine.............****
? How on Earth can you "Utilise point-of-care (POC) testing" (using the Genedrive machine as recommended), if you have NOT bought one or more to do this testing? Go figure............. So there are 1,500 hopitals, right?
All IMHO
