That's interesting 1984. We have a lot in common. I too was given the opportunity to train to become a pastor in the USA when I was young, but I choose Electronics instead.

1984, I note that you indicated that you are a Christian. I really find that hard to believe given the theme of your posts here and on twitter before you got banned there.

What church denomination do you belong? Is it the Dutch Reform Church?

I don't see any Christian values/virtues reflected in your posts over the years.

As a Christian, one virtue I would expect you to demonstrate is "thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself".

Instead, you come across as someone filled with hate of the other, and rage because the other are here. How about live and let live?

A very clear summary of the current situation. I do recall Scott mentioning the tailing site some time back. The politics and gang upheaval in Ecuador didn't help.

I also approve of the phased plan which tackle things in manageable steps.

I agree, BHP went all out to disrupt and get us on the cheap.

Fort, from what you have posted, you believe that the actions which Scott is currently executing are the right ones. So, what puzzles me is how a banker with Bob's experience and of his calibre upon taking over promised to get things done fast and smart given that we are currently looking at over 4 years in total? Or is the 4 years the fast and smart, and the alternative process would have been 10years+?

Did he speak too soon without fully understanding what needs to be done when he and Scott first took over?

If that's the case 1984, why is Scott going all out to build the mine instead of doing more to market the company to interested parties? If I recall my contract law correctly, I think the process is called Invitation To Treat. Not seeing much of that from solg.

One thing for sure, if we are still shareholders when Cascabel is producing, 10p will be a distant memory.

I do recall Scott committing to build the decline. The only decline he has manged so far is the decline of the SP. He has done a splendid job in managing that decline!

Scott does look happy in that tweet.

Each year that goes by without a bid is a year we progress the building of the mine. I agree with PBow, there will come a point of no return and we will have to see the mine building to its conclusion.

I am no expert, but I have been reading the following for the past 2 years:

"there is a 100% chance solgold will be bought out"

And yet that still hasn't happened and now looking like it won't for another 2+years at least. Meanwhile, the company are following the steps one would take when building a mine.

Hence, given current info, I am inclined to believe that we will be building the mine. One thing for sure, we will know one way or another as time goes by.

So, it would appears that folks have now given up expecting a bid, and are battening down for the long haul of at least 2 years.

I would be grateful if 1984 would state why he is so certain that we will not be building the mine even in light of the company giving all indications that they are now becoming mine builders?

Hi Quady, reviewing the latest update, the recent funding, along with confirmation that teams are being assembled, the logical conclusion is that we are gearing up to build the mine.

I can appreciate that folks expect that we might get a bid along the way and that our current steps are fallback until a bid comes. But what if there are no bids? We will have to continue building the mine.

I must admit I really thought that Bob was here to flog the company with his fast and smart statement.

I think another investor call is needed where we can ask questions.

It's just that I find the prospect of more of the same for the next 2+years somewhat daunting. At this point, I would be happy with getting my money back.

Posters on twitter are objecting to the idea of the company now hiring teams for all intent and purposes to build a mine!

Add, I note where you extrapolated that the derisking path was the conclusion of the SR. It would be nice to hear that from the company. They announced the commencement of the SR, but don't have the courage to communicate it's conclusion. I get that you have to believe that, because otherwise what would we have? We cannot accept that the much vaunted tier 1 still isn't attracting a buyer even after the phased lower cost plan was announced. I guess we have to have something to hold on to. It's been what, 2 years already and now we have talk of another 2 years or more into the 2030s!!?

I am not feeling inspired by what management are doing. I don't see where shareholders value have been protected, or delivered. I hope for everyone's sake that at the end of the next 2 years that we don't hear that a further 2 years are required!!

Amazing how quickly folks went from a bid is imminent, with anticipation fuelled by Bob's Fast and smart statement, to accepting that we will go nowhere Fast while Scott spends his time derisking Cascabel for the next 2 years with no hope for the SP which is of no significance to solg management!

1984, I think you will find that BBG, Jack or whatever he calls himself today is at the heart of all the animosity. The guy is rude, aggressive, disrespectful, loves to boast, rubs people up the wrong way, and I think he is 1 sandwich short of a picnic and should seek counselling. I pity the person who has to come home to him. 90% of the people who turns up here to troll does so because of his past behaviour towards them. There is just something not quite right with him.

I agree with Fort re Newmont & BHP still holding. BHP would not have been up to its dirty tricks if what we have weren't valuable. They would have moved on. Why waste time on a duster?
