price changes on low volumes are not that meaningful really.

Perhaps the MMs widened the spread with a view to keeping the ask where it is and loweing the bid, in order to get day traders and weak holders to sell so they have shares to fill larger upcoming orders. .... a bit of a tree shake. Ultimately fundamentals win through.

neglecting trading costs, with an 8.22% spread you'd need the SP to drop to 0.33p to even break even with this and it incurrs the risk of being left out in the cold if the market rises. Then you'd have a dilema ... when to reenter. If you believe that there will be no significant news this side of the end of February (as I do) then you'd need the SP to drop to ask 0.28p ish to make it worth your while, then there's valuing your own time in monitoring it. Now I've divested by about 25% original holding as there was action on other holdings that have achieved significant rises from newsflow but that's with the aim of rebuying in to Alba by the end of February when the expected other investments have settled at their rerate level. I'm looking really at ALBA shares being my "base currency" as I intend it to be invested at about this proportion +-25% until Amitsoq reaches some sort of JV deal (by which time I expect Clogau in production and results from new targets quantified).

You dont have to sell all of your holdings to try and benefit from rises elsewhere or rebuy at lower prices. The rises are usually steeper than the "decay" phase. Remeber that its only a decay in short term sentiment and not fundamentals.

Fundamentally this is at this time imo worth 0.7 to 0.9 though thats clearly not the market's opinion

Re Share consolidation
Although of course it actually does nothing fundamentally, what it does do is change first impressions from being a share "on the ropes" to one that's "normal". Another company I'm in has done the same but it is further along the road to becoming profitable, and that is XSG.

We are as yet pre (significant) revenue but prior to hitting a breakeven or highly significant news then I believe a 1:1000 share consolidation would alter perceptions and define a "day zero" so that the past drops go under the radar, as they are no longer important.

In all fairness, Alba direct the use of their funds effectively, so raised funds contribute to value (not just keep the lights on), so in that sense it adds value to all shareholders so I cannot consider it dilutive. The big discounts given to Bergen, however did affect shareholder value, although the reasons for using them were completely understandable at the time and the company continued with productive work is as far as they could under covid restrictions. The late november 21 placing, post Bergen, represented a great deal more value per share than what Alba were getting from the Bergen facility, so I have every faith that the BOD have an eye on the best interests of long term holders in this regard.

Upon confirmatory assay results and receipt of permissions then this could attract a great deal more share interest and if SP achieves 1.5p for over 10 days then we'd be receiving significant £3.5M injection as accelerator clauses would be being triggered. As it stands I'm expecting just over £1M in 2021 even without spectacular rises.

Wrt to gold, I expect it to retreat as pandemic comes under control, but over the long term all the money printing of the past 12 years will push fiat lower in comparison to gold imo. Its also emerging that accessibility to tokenised gold will make it the near instant access deposit account of choice.

With the expected newsflow that's achievable in the next 2 months. December's placing raised rough to develop clogau to production licence and to jorc amitsoq. A jv on amitsoq is possible before Christmas so placing to raise funds for melville inglefield and Gwynfynydd wouldn't be until later in the year anyway. I'm surprised you're not pushing for an open placing through primary bid. I'd support you in that regard

@Bishop_Basher , the elemental nature of gold is one of the reasons why I've never valued welsh gold any more than any other gold. If scarcity is essential to maintain its value, then the multiple targets in the area that could be developed would tend to depress that scarcity value. That in itself would make the exploration of other DGB targets futile. Thats not to say that a provenence should not be kept ( in fact I've suggested blockchain ). It is just that the business model should not rely on that same scarcity premium.

I think it'll bottom out at 0.325 or so from the past charts. It would be a nice entry price for you. In about 8-9 weeks then you should be looking at a very healthy profit. I'm not sure if there'll be another swift peak / decay stage before that
