With respect to Greenland assets ... the ultimate aim of a mineral asset's ownership is to derive profit from its exploitation.
In order to get to that stage then a process of prospecting, exploraiton and development need take place.
What ALBA bring to the table of the newlistco is an explored (or soon to be explored) asset. I would hope that the asset's valuation as listco would reflect its proven up value as opposed to prospect value.
The new shareholders (non ALBA) of newlistco shall provide some cash to further explore, engage in studies of the Greenland prospects.

Further capital will be needed to develop the prospects and to bring them into production. At that stage, it would not necessarily be issues of equity that would pay for that, but possibly debt and joint ventrues (as BlueJay). Naturally some assets are more advanced than others, so for example I would expect Inglefield to take several more years exploration to be at the same stage as TBS is now.

As far as I can gather its being pitched at about a 30% discount to what I would expect the shares to trade at in the medium term horizon, which is reasonable in order to make the offer attractive and represents a greater value to Alba as the assets' value dont appear to be reflected in the Alba shareprice.

I believe alba needs permission from the Nat Park to exploit the spoil heap. I'd guess that the larger fragments could be hand sorted in a carousel, as I'm confident hand sorting would yield a good grade feedstock

Whereas I'd have preferred 8m not 6m, in the circumstances its OK. I've recently done some geological research which suggests that there are significant lode structures perpendicular to the main lode (so also jw 7 10 lodes),. Where they intersect I'd expect v high gold concentrations. My confidence in ALBAs capacity to target these zones is therefore elevated. All my preconditions bar dewatering are met to prove the resource.

My guess, is that life of mine and extraction rate will be determined by planning as opposed to technical or geological constraints. Difficult to put an npv10 value on to it as capex determined by rate of extraction etc.

I also think the market is missing a trick with the value of the visitor centre.

@Noobz in fact, yes, however, not as a private placing but as an open offer, where shareholders had access to the discount. Nevertheless, 80% or so of the shareholders that expressed a preference to not restore preemption rights. Still, hopefully primary bid will give me the opportunity to subscribe to newlistco

No, Alba Mineral Resources plc will be the owners of about 50% of the newlistco shares, not Alba's individual shareholders.

Beneficially I suppose it makes little difference , however, when it comes to voting at AGMs EGMs etc then the votes will be cast by Alba , not Alba shareholders.

Of course there is nothing stopping you from buying some of these shares at IPO, subject to seeing some details, I certainly shall

I'd estimated about £8M shortly after the announcement of the intention to spin off, so allowing for a bit of a discount to assure the success of the IPO then the £6M is not a world away. So if all goes well then I'd expect a 33% rise in newlistco from offer to offer + 3months

@sharegnomie .... newlistco shares to alba shareholders, I agree with you in principle , however there is nothing stopping existing ALBA shareholders from buying newco shares, or even selling some ALBA to buy Newco to rebalance according to the individual's appetite for exposure

I would have preferred the valuation to be done after this year's exploration. Alba shareholders have paid for the current exploration and so should receive a recompense appropriate to the jorcd resource.

I expect it to be granted and the siltbuster solution is well tested and proven. Remember there will be ongoing testing too.

The expected service level for NRW is 4 months for this sort of application, so really it would be expected today. However that is only a guideline

@Glasir, I think comparing the mcaps of Alba at present to Scotgold two years ago and taking out what contribution to the mcap of Alba that Greenland made may be a fairer comparison. It does highlight the almost total ignoring of the value of the Greenland assets though, so it will be interesting at spinoff to see what the market then thinks.

What I do find interesting are the various reports that Scotgold have had to produce in order to meet planning and environmental conditions. They are published on their website and are a good indication of what Alba will need to implement for this and their other future prospects. We wont have a "peat" problem on our sites, however I dont know why Scotgold went to all the headache of moving all that peat, when they could have left it insitu and piled some foundations for their plant, either that, or sited their plant underground.

The programme I watched also showed a big investor in Scothold, did anyone catch his name.

@jeremiah, an rns from Aug last year clearly states that bulk sample results would form a significant part of any future decision to reopen the mine. It certainly did not say that it was to provide feedstock for processing practice. It has however been useful for that and in any case future mining will be probably targeted at ultra rich zones.

I would antipate access to an area where a rich bulk sample can be readily obtained from existing workings once lower Llechfraith has been dewatered. It would be a mistake to hold back on any sampling and reporting thereof as it raises suspicions of a lack of transparency. Naturally , it would take time to sink trial shaft, drive trial adits from below that area and most reasonable shareholders would accept that.

A clear plan to areas of proven high gold mineralisation will restore confidence in due course, but we are some way from that at present. I'm confident they exist and can be found, initially by underground drilling guided by the structural data being gleaned from surface drilling.

I believe that significant SP appreciation will come later from the granting of various permissions not least environmental and planning constraints which will doubtless put some cap on the quantity of material that can be removed from the mine. Is there some merit in making an underground chamber for a future processing plant to minimse surfacing material ?
