RE: Taken from condor website dated tomorrow RNS22 Aug 2021 18:30
The toll deal has either been agreed in principle for ages, and we're just waiting for some pre-requisites to be met before announcing it, or it's been dead for ages. It's hard to believe that negotiations are still taking place. Both sides would surely be sick of the debate by now. Personally, I think that Calibre probably demanded more than their fair share. They are the ones in a position of strength, but Condor is not desperate, and we already know that JM isn't keen to give away profit when we can have it all for ourselves in a couple of years. Still, a fair deal would have still benefited both companies. Calibre may think they don't need Condor as a potential competitor, but it must also be clear by now that Condor aren't going to go bust, or allow themselves to be taken over on the cheap, and so what's to lost by a bit of mutual profit? I'm rambling now. I rather doubt a toll deal will materialise at this late stage, but you never know.
As regards this appointment, it shows Condor want to be serious players. 750k options is a good chunk, with more to come annually, but to get talent, sometimes you have to entice them (and our cash on hand is limited). This guy's pedigree speaks for itself. The right guy for the right job. Bit of a coup for MC in my eyes.
