I see the Rand touched 15 to the USD a few days ago. Wonder if this will be a trend as it does make a difference to PAF's share price.

Oh, so how long will we wait for a "retrace of PM's" - which are currently really in the doldrums. Unless of course there is a sudden black swan landing, like debt? The point I want to make is that it is quite possible for a gigantic retrace of many gold and silver shares. Akin, to the contents of the Hoover Dam being forced through a hose pipe (to quote some gold Guru!)! LOL! PAF, a relatively well run mine and management will make a spectacular come back. The question is "when"! I look forward to those September results being "good", ultrashort!

It seems strange that the weakening of the Rand versus the USD has not really been reflected in PAF's share price. Another disappointment imho.

Any specific reason anybody can point to for the sp drop? There have been some biggish buys over the last week. This is not a share with frequent high volumes of trades. Yes, the POG has dropped but wondering if there is something behind the political scenes we should be aware of? Things could never be tougher than under the Mugabe regime, imho! At some point the POG/S must turn....... There are just too many black swans circling for PM's not to rebound at some point and USD cannot remain strong for ever!

So what can be done about this phenomenon, Mulder? Action plan is what I mean? Or proposed one?

Good point, seer! I will remember that and have a (gold producing) share with a massive spread but - even in dire times, has remained at a profit and pays an excellent dividend!
I have bought some more here anyway. Silver is going to outperform gold when the tables turn!

I tried very hard to watch the full 25 minutes. When the old dinosaur spoke about "morals and ethics" he had lost me 100%. Clearly little understanding of capitalism and hence rapidly moved from one mining job to the next as a trouble maker in his youth!

Not sure (this will continue upwards) as it seems the USD is still to strengthen (Zero Hedge and Kings World reading today). Of course nobody knows but it does seem logical that on the basis that the Big Banks always win, they will pull the rug from under the Hedge Funds. Do you follow COT's and number of short versus long's contracts?

A really positive RNS as expected but, will this help turn the corner for PAF share price? Wonder if the minister will give any hints as regards his charter in his speech? The resolution of the land question has put immense pressure on the present government. Perhaps a turning point and if not resolved to give all security to all, then a Zim/Venezuela in the making!

Agree, the most useless of specimens and had no clue as secr of the party he belongs to! As min of mining and resources we can expect zilch! The so called mining charter will probably be a great disappointment as he is now meddling with land reform. So much insight that no farm in his opinion can be larger than 1200 Hectares or something like that. Imagine a Kalahari farm being viable if prescribed to, plus farmers need to give their "excessive land" away, LOL! How sad. Implosion of the Rand coming!

Board Members, am I correct in assuming that the small recovery here largely reflects the weakening of the Rand? Seems to me that Emerging Markets will continue to struggle with the strong Dollar (presently). Not good (for world economy), LOL! Perhaps the black swan to implode and shake things up may come from EM's? Surely, the low POG just cannot last much longer? Paper derivatives have had a field day suppressing PM's. As somebody wrote: "You cannot hold a beach ball under the water forever!"
