I like the paragraph where one of the FED Board members (St Louis?) states that raising interest rates will topple the USA into recession - then POG will shoot upwards! Powell seems more "Dovish" on raising interest rates, perhaps the US economy is not as robust as they think?

Pokerchips, reading today - one theory is to watch the Yuan. Gold is coupled to the Yuan, they say. Trump is to decide on the 5th September if they have consensus (China & USA on more trade wars or imposed tariffs). If the Yuan has devalue to counter US Tariffs on imported goods, the POG will sink.
Then there is a theory about coupling POG to Swiss Frank! Other theories are technicals - these do not look good!

Thanks All for some informative articles on the political intrigue in Equador. Luckily for us investors we have a right leaning government doing their best to attract mining investment here by removing the windfall tax as an example and Solg doing their best to keep local communities happy. I did not realise what a huge effect the Kinross-Lundin deal had on international investors. There is always the worry that in 5 years time a left leaning government is re-elected? Worrying background noise and perhaps a reason why the big mining companies are playing their cards very close to their chests, watching government moves and improvement in legislation as regards mining. Planning a Block-Cave mine is all important not to up set the environmentalists. It's a green beautiful country!
Would be really positive for NM to release regular positive news on drilling going forward (please!).

Now that the constitutional court has decided on the legality of the election and with the crocodile in charge, it does appear that the government is serious to attract foreign investment such as the_shareminator has highlighted. If only we can reduce fatalities and improve efficiencies down below, things look rather rosy here. Exactly what are the implications of buying back to 64% ownership? Positive or negative?

Could the Banks call the bluff and sink the COMEX once and for all? All those gold shorter's, where exactly would they get those hundred's of thousands of ounces of gold to cover these shorts? Could the POG rise, the stock market fall and the interest rates in the USA rise by the FED be curtailed? Or loss of confidence in the USD with Trump now Trumped! LOL

seer, Trump (as a land/hotel owner and with substantial debt, I guess) was critical of the Fed who raised interest rates I read! So, hence the USD weakened and POG/S rose. Hope this lasts? There are so many major factors so on a knife point at the moment. The Swans could land! LOL! I note inflation in the US has also risen significantly.....

Prediction on some sites seem to be that POG/S may have reached their bottom? But can never be sure, so much manipulation, short trading and big boys "playing" the market to their wishes, LOL!
