Morning Gate ..hope your well....yeah been reading a bit about this ....so the BofE says inflation going to peak @ 3.7% this year ?.....to me the March 26 budget statement by Reeves could/will be very interesting....i only hope she doesnt put tax up further in any form and use the increased defence budget as an excuse...i know they have said thats going to be partly funded by cutting their foreign aid budget (although divisive im in favour of that)......26th of march a big day imo......

Lti...you will have to forgive i blame nearly being 68 and have been at war with the tax man for over 40 years ....it looked to me that this tax year24/25 i wil be paying 40% rate from £50271... and next tax year 25/26 i will be paying the 40% rate from £37,701...therefore paying more tax.....im seeing my financial/accountant next week on a lot of issues so i will speak to him..i see the over £125,140 is still unchanged @ 45%....thanks lti gl & atb.

So 24/25 £ 50,271 to £125,140 40%

25/26 £ 37,701 to £125,140 40%.........thats also what im seeing on the govt website ??

Coming back to the UK next week and have lots to sort out re Tax before april....anyways been talking to someone and they informed me next year 25/26 the 40% tax threshold is being dropped from £50,270 to £37701...?!...i must be losing it .cannot remember this being announced.......????

Hi gate yeah Aviva results tom...still got plenty.. 515p was my target price to sell some and was happy to sell some @519.09.......my next sell price for Lloyds is 72p..if it gets there ...gl gate & atb

Sold some BT @ 155.20 Standard Life @ 1219.05 & Aviva @ 519.09......sold some LLoyds last week 20th feb @ 67.22 ...havent sold anymore atm...however will look later ....gla.

Trump has always been divisive.......However europe in general had to up their game re defence spending and security ....there seems to be multiple threats Russia,china ,iran etc.....Trump seems to have given the UK & Europe the kick up the backside it needed to not be totally reliant on the US all the time...ps glad to see some of the increased defence spending coming from the foreign aid budget....gla
