The Stobart Group’s former chief executive has narrowly failed in his campaign to unseat the company’s chairman.

At the company’s fractious annual meeting in Guernsey on Friday, 51.2 per cent of shareholders voted for Iain Ferguson’s re-election. Several shareholders in the room had directly called on Mr Ferguson to stand down.

The release of the results was delayed until Saturday evening due to the complexity of the counting and the closeness of the outcome. One person with knowledge of the process said the narrowness of the vote could lead to a “renewed war” over the company.

OK an opinion piece but if correct fracking in Texas will not meet their needs. Colombian oil is conveniently close to US refineries. It requires someone to drill and extract it and a pipeline to a port or railhead so it can reach the USA. Amer might just be that company.

If PMG survived oil at sub $40 a barrel then given the strong prices and its prospective reserves under the north sea the share price looks cheap to me? Content to wait for the market to recognise this.

One final thought, INEOS is looking to build a couple of large petro chemical sites in the UK or Europe. Where they choose might help boost PMG, they could buy this company right now for peanuts and have a gauranteed oil and gas supply. A theory, nothing more.

My conclusion re permits etc is to wait and see how close to the forecast schedule BKY proceeds. If the permissions are completed this year and soil is being dug by early 2019 then I will feel happy to remain invested.

My other uranium play Energy Fuels has enjoyed a great run up in share price over the past few months but is still multiples below its previous peaks.

Chinese buying small pharma outfits.

At 260p a share I think the odds of turning a profit in 6 months quite good. The horses and football less certain imo.

There are risks in bottom feeding or trying to catch a falling knife. I am down on a small punt and not panicked by a 10% drop on a Friday. We need better news, some reassuring science and perhaps a deal? Today was a good day for some just not for Summit.

One of several reasons why I took a modest punt here was because the Trial results were not statistically convincing for one group but the product worked for many others. I think the market over reacted, there is money in taking a contrarian view sometimes. Today for example was a good day for Faron. Maybe with time and research the same here.

You are entitled to your opinion and the market is entitled to its opinion over BKY.

There is no sign in the markets/share price that your political/investment fears are justified as yet. I would be very surprised if the Oman Soveriegn Wealth Fund would have committed £120 million into BKY without due diligence and a risk assessment.

It will take time for POS to move into this new business area of licencing etc but don't forget the money from the sale of the jack up business is on its way.

No longer invested but remain a watcher and broadly agree with your summing up. For me if the sp fell to £50 I would buy a few but currently some small bio techs offer more share price growth/risk.

If you take a look at the share Price for other uranium producers there has been a marked shift in price over the past couple of months. While I cannot guarantee BKY will fly if they are producing fuel in 2019 then they will be very well placed to catch the upswing from Uranium demand and price rises.

My other reason for supporting BKY is political and economic. Trump appears to be dragging the world into if not a Trade War then certainly one where more trade tariffs are placed on goods. The EU does not have a home grown Uranium Producer, BKY might just fill that gap.
