Fair points thanks for posting. We all have opinions on AMER I am getting concerned about a stagnating sp after a good week for oil!

Not a chartist buy the 3 month and 1 week charts encouraging. Sp has enjoyed a good week but based on what?

Rumours, change of market sentiment, oil price, leaked info that India might settle?

I first purchased here a few months back after a drop in sp, just weeks ago when it dropped 24% in a morning and I gulped but averaged down with another 7000 shares. This morning I feel vindicated by the RNS and optimistic for the future.

While buying early carries risk it should deliver a better return, that said buying today is still early as SOLG has not produced the gold we all hope is there yet so for those lurking and waiting to jump on board today might just be the day.

While I understand the concern of local people over the arrival of large mining companies literally in their backyards you cannot stop progress for long. 200 years ago in the UK people rioted about the spinning frame taking work from weavers, wealthy landowners did not want railways driven across their estates and so on and so on.

They deserve their say, their should be safeguards in place but there is room for miners to mine and ordinary Ecuadorians to thrive as well. Up to the miners and government to put safeguards in place.....working example UK bookmakers have upped the money they put into a fund for problem gamblers. The miners should put money into a fund to ameliorate environmental damage and improve roads, water and schools.

I posted the GTE update because it serves as a warning of how events can turn a sp. GTE -16% when I looked just now but that said if I held them I would consider buying the dip. Why? Because the oil is in the ground and the setbacks are annoying not fatal. Hence as a large holder of AMER shares I hope we get a positive operational update on the drilling this summer because that would lift us to closer to 20p but.....a duster could knock 15% off the sp in a few hours.

Meanwhile in South Korea new reactor design with a 60 year life....why is this country a workshop to so much of the world? Because it has cheap energy costs, 50% plus of their electricity comes from Nuclear Power Plants. Sadly Spain after a very good start 40 years ago has gone Green, industry is weak and their Aluminium smelters are closing.

Apparently the EU has accepted certification of this Russian design and they can build one from scratch in about 40 months.

While one cannot ignore the political and legal risks of mining here there are some big miners and investors putting their money on the table to buy a slice of the action. Would imagine SOLG will be subject to a bid by a larger player late to the game this year.

While one can argue over the cash position I think the phrase "undemanding valuation" sums it up well enough.

Hi Colonel, my exasperation with the sp is that if AMER did no more drilling for oil , sat back on its existing production, the building pipeline income and the cash in the Bank what would its sensible break up value or NAV be today, this morning?

imo 12 pence is not a fair reflection on what the company is worth today let alone where it could be by year end.

Two interesting RNS today so with markets due to open shortly where will the sp head?

Given my experience here probably down even though its another $19 million in the bank!

Awoke a little early today and just checked gold price on the FT, appears to have nudged $1350 which must be simething of an incentive to get digging for it here?

As great as this run up has been I want to see some solid news either science or businees related eg details of a partnership etc.

Seems a couple of oil tankers on fire off the gulf of Oman has lifted oil prices!
