The Case For Oil for.....a while longer yet.17 Dec 2019 10:40
I was involved in the recent general election and what struck me about delivering leaflets to houses around south Cheshire was how few had re charging sockets for electric vehicles. I also read that UK SUV sales outnumber EV sales by 37:1.
Add to that a quote from an FT article:
"Ploughing investment into new oil and gas projects just as the world shifts to greener forms of energy may sound foolish, but BHP, the world’s biggest natural resources company, is nonetheless setting out the case.
A large supply gap is likely to emerge over the next 15 years, it says, owing to under-investment in new production to replace depleting fields. That could result in a “steep price correction” for oil in the second half of the next decade — and bumper profits for those prepared to invest."
I am willing to wait and stay invested in oil exploration for a while longer yet because Cairn's best days could well be ahead of us and not behind in India.
